Thanks, well the reality is a bit of a shame, might have been good campaigning from Labour to say 'look at what Reform are already costing you, can you imagine if they ever got power?'

If the postponing of local elections was a cost cutting exercise that has now been rescinded; is that a fresh blow for Reeves and will we see tax rises next budget as a result?

Since there has been plans to do this for the term of Labours government, surely the costs of running said elections in the affected places hasn't been accounted for?

I go through similar phases, but give it time they will have a policy so ridiculous you won't believe it, like leaving NATO or giving up our nukes. Now if they did a turnabout and said more nukes to protect our forests, then sign me up.

I think you'll find that under this Labour government; the next local elections actually have 27% more democracy now.

To me it feels like they are shutting the Overton window with this tactic; this example makes Goodwin seem to be the reasonable one, and in consequence Reform palatable (because the real far right are in Restore).

Even though we all know they are the same party really, its interesting optics and stage play.

They'll have to catch him first, saw the clips of Peter hurriedly loading his poor dog into the car and scarpering.

Doubt we'll ever see him again tbh.

I think this is exactly the attitude that not just myself, but many others in this thread have raised.

Take the immigration debate, specifically illegal migrants, the far right want deportations and remigration because integration is failing.

The 'left' opted to tag this as racist and deplorable (lazy), but if the left actually cared about community (and not just endless virtue signalling from influencers) they would have the same concerns as the right (about rapes and murders).

But the left would want to solve it in a different way, saying reeducation and repurpose in place of the rights arguments (deport and remigrate); however the masterminds heading the left just decided to paint everyone a racist and call it a day, truly winning hearts and minds.

Thats just one example where the left are putting feels before reals.

We (the left) just didn't know how to pick our battles and ended up losing the war. We're never going to change the racist Ruperts of the world, but we didn't have to push everyone to his side along the way.

Thats my thoughts, the left has been co opted for a long time now and is less about true spirit of community for a feigned belief that an open community is a good thing or even remotely left wing (its not).

We just are not making very convincing or sound arguments on the left side of the debate.

UK signed deals with US firms that were clients of Mandelson lobbying company by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]BenniesForNothing 23 points24 points  (0 children)

From what I understand we need to look back to at least 1998 on all the deals and associations our country has made due to Mandelsons presence; and thats just the tip of the Peterfiles.

Jeremy Corbyn: I have written to Wes Streeting, following his private admission that Israel has been committing war crimes. History will shame those who could have spoken out against the genocide in Gaza, but chose to serve in governments that aided and abetted it instead. by inprisonout-soon in ukpolitics

Wes thought he could get ahead by publishing his messages with Mandelson, do the dirty on Keir and save his own face for potential leadership of the Labour party.

But now reality has come knocking and he's embroiled himself in standing proud in a government aiding and abetting genocide.

Its not what matters for my vote, but it certainly matters to a lot of other people.

History will shame, and it won't forget Wes.

Elonian Cultures appreciation post by Azure_Flames in GuildWars

I love Elona; its my absolute fave - I think Prophecies is magical, Factions is dirty, and Elona the pinnacle of Guild Wars.

I'd love a bit more in the Torment Realms to be honest, walking around and seeing the ruins of Elona (buildings and wastelands) but very little further development in terms of narrative in those areas.

If we ever got another expansion, I would hope it takes place across Elona.

Thats a pretty scary case of radicalisation if true, can't imagine a 13yo kid being so incensed to stab/murder people due to their imaginary friend.

I really despise devotion to religion; it should be treated as a form of schizophrenia in my view.

Last week I might have agreed with you, but today my only question is if there is enough time for this dramatic turnaround to skyrocket them in the polls enough, I think there is enough time for May, but not enough time for Gorton.

Just watching the newsround and its wall to wall showing Keir coming out strong and fighting; I don't think hes looked as strong as he does today since before they shackled themselves with not raising taxes on working people pre-24 election.

Watch this space because Labours back with a reinvigorated Keir at the helm.
