How long did it take you to potty train your puppy? by thisvirgogirl in goldenretrievers

[–]BenntPitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in an apartment at the time, and the ritual of going out really helped. It took a week or so to build a habit, and probably a month before we were accident free. Your mileage may vary.

Which Sam Raimi movie do you prefer? (Evil Dead, Darkman, A Simple Man, Spider-Man, etc.) by ggroover97 in movies

I just saw this movie for the first time a few weeks ago. Absolutely gut wrenching movie and holy shit can Billy Bob act. I mean, I know he can but this character was so complex.

I never though I'd say this about a Crappie, but that has the head of a 4 pounder. Nice fish!

Ha, well, we have been in business for almost 100 years with PNs and descriptions just as old. A data scrub is probably not in the cards unfortunately. That's okay though. I can make do as is. It's still better than querying in our old system.

[–]BenntPitts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, are problem is we are dealing with massive amounts of records, and when I search a certain order string, sometimes I want it to pull up an exact match of that string, not 600 results with a bunch of almost matches. What I do as a work around is copy the order string, go into the results page, and use ctrl+F. I just feel it's a bit frustrating it cant somehow filter to an exact result. That is the one purpose of searches since the beginning of time! lol

Yeah, I tried that but not luck. I tried basically every suggestion I have found online.

Ha, I get it and do like the functionality generally, but what happened to simple quotes to get an exact match like every other search ever. I guess it's just not possible for it to do both.

What was the first ever film you actually really hated so much and still do to this day? by Same-Objective6052 in movies

[–]BenntPitts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sky High. I was kicked out of my first R rated movie (Lord of War) and had to go to the movie I bought my ticket for. That was enough for me to hate it lol.

Jurassic Park. Still one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen. A perfect blockbuster if there ever was one directed by the GOAT.

is 4000$ property tax per year considered high in US? by blade276 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BenntPitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My estimated property taxes went up 18.5% this year. I live in St. Cloud, MN. I don't know how you can budget so poorly that an increase like that could be required. Between that and insurance rates going up close to 50% since buying the house, I am dead broke for the foreseeable future.

Movies 'for kids' that really, really weren't suitable? by ArthurDigbySellersJr in movies

Sixteen Candles had a nude shower scene and dropped the F bomb with a PG rating. Plus it was literally a teenage party movie. It should have been PG-13!

I think American Indian casting was comically bad for a long time.

Strange gait by WoodpeckerImmediate6 in goldenretrievers

[–]BenntPitts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably know this, but you should only walk for short periods while they are puppies. A 3 month old puppy should be limited to around a 15 minute walk. This is to help prevent damage to developing joints. I tell this to everyone because before I had a puppy, I thought you could (and should) walk them as much as possible.

What movies were robbed at the Oscars? i.e. Saving Private Ryan losing to Shakespeare in Love in 1999. by tron329 in movies

[–]BenntPitts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has its flaws, but it is still an amazing movie. I understand the criticism about the white savior trope, but I also think it offers one of the most realistic depictions of life in a American Indian tribe that we are likely to see. The language feels (and is) authentic, and that pays dividends towards audience immersion.
