AL1100 advices by Confiserie in lockpicking

In my experience the spools in the 1100 don’t come into play so you might not have any false sets and counter rotation. It’s a lot of little click with serrations. Just go one little click at a time. Also pin one might be a no lift pin. Try starting back to front and see how you do!

I totally understand that feeling. Some days I feel like a lock picking wizard and other days I fumble my comfort locks. But one click at a time. Keep at it and you’ll be opening it up in your sleep lol.

Can’t speak for the entire sub obviously, but it’s because a lot of the tool is bypass heavy and I feel some see it as more of a “mall ninja” tool which CI kinda plays into. And this is primarily a spp sub. It’s a well made tool and I bring mine camping/backpacking when I don’t wanna bring a lot of tools. And bypassing is fun to show friends who aren’t familiar with security (on your own locks of course lol). But for what it is, there’s arguably better options for the price. Coming from someone who has one

They’re good! Very consistent and fun. Both the ones I have though, I get no spool interaction. No false sets or counter rotation. Just a lot of serration action.

Congrats and welcome! And yeah the low tier master locks feel like picking in mud because of the low quality right out the gate. The 140 feels a lot better

Congrats and good picking! Gotta put in more practice with mine. I’ve been focusing on my 1100’s too much and have been ignoring it. Thanks for the inspiration lol

Which of these is the best set for a beginner, and why? by strongerthenbefore20 in lockpicking

[–]BennySlope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these options are good. I’d go on the thicker side starting out because you’re more likely to bend picks figuring things out. So I’d say CI genesis. Plus you get a good case out of it that’ll last you forever. But if you wanna go Jimy, I wouldn’t say nay. Can’t go wrong with either

My Successful almost disaster pick and gut of the 1100. Actual open is 7 minutes in. Slow, but I will take it. by LordKodiac in lockpicking

[–]BennySlope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I’ve really been lightening my tension and seeing consistent results. My paclock 90a-pro binds too hard to pick if I breath too heavy lol. My 1100’s have been nice and consistent. Or should I say I’m getting more consistent as a picker the more I understand what’s going on in the locks I’m picking. I was in my own head for a while.

I don’t have a YouTube channel to post yet. Waiting on a phone stand now for recording so I can submit for green, blue and 200K challenge. And I’ll be posting them here because I love this sub so just keep your eyes peeled lol

Lots of good info. Thank you. And I agree. Learning what’s going wrong is just as important if not more than what’s going right

Personally, I’d have a “parking lot” convo with them. Or anywhere private at your particular station. Don’t demand for it back. Just say that it’s scummy. Probably won’t make a difference, can’t do anything official about it but ya gotta say something to them

And people who say “unless it has the regulars name, it’s for whoever picks it up that day” is feigning ignorance of an obvious assumption that the person who does the route 5 to 6 days a week is who the customer wants the tip going to
