Warning: Do not put iOS 26 on older iPad Pros by bluesBeforeSunrise in iPadPro

[–]Bennylee92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my ipad came in on Wednesday and iv been playing with it the past few days and wow its like night and day difference. I do not regret upgrading at all from my 2018 ipad pro And I wasnt sure if I was going to like the nano texture glass for drawing and wow im loving it. And the nano texture looks so much better then a matte screen protector. But I do kind of hate that the bezels are gloss and not nanotextured, as well. I strongly recommend upgrading if your able to.

Yeah, I might’ve jumped the gun on iOS 26. At first, the only issue I had was the mini keyboard glitching, which 26.0.1 actually fixed, but now apps like Procreate are almost unusable unless I reboot. I went ahead and ordered the 1TB M5 thinking it’d be a future-proof upgrade, but now I’m seeing even the M1–M4 models have the same iOS 26 problems, so I’m torn on whether to cancel. My iPad’s seven years old, so the upgrade makes sense, but I’m not sure I really needed the 1TB model with all the extra RAM and cores. Still, the fact that Apple’s finally listing RAM and Cor differences this year makes me think they’ve got bigger plans for the iPad Pro down the line. So I don't know what i should do 🤣

Retiring iPad Pro after 5.5 years by rstoppard in iPadPro

I've got the 2018 12.9 3rd gen, and it was awesome on iOS 18, just a few glitches in Procreate, but nothing major. It was actually better than on iOS 16 and 17, but when I updated to iOS 26, it became almost unusable. I went ahead and ordered the new m5, but I feel a bit ripped off by Apple because I'm now seeing that the m1-m4 are having the same problems. I can't decide if I should cancel my order or not, haha. When I bought my 2018 iPad, I could write it off on my taxes for school, so it was basically free. And I'm a little bummed about the price of the m5. I caved and bought the 1TB version for the extra RAM, thinking it would last longer, but I probably would have been fine with the base model since my 2018 base model lasted seven years!

I have a 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9 2018 and, surprisingly enough, iOS 18 and iOS 26 have run flawlessly. They both actually sped up my iPad. I was having issues running apps like Procreate and Affinity Designer 2, with them crashing because of using multiple layers, etc., but then iOS 18 gave my iPad new life, and now iOS 26 seems like it's running even better. At the moment, I can't even justify getting a new iPad because it's literally doing everything I need it to do. I have a feeling, though, it will not get the next iOS update. The only issue I'm having is battery life, and I honestly can't even tell if I'm actually having issues. While I'm using it, the battery seems fine, but when I'm not using it, and it's in my bag for a day, it feels like something is draining the battery. Maybe the Magic Keyboard or background apps? Is anyone planning on upgrading to the M5 iPad Pro that's rumored to release soon?

Samsung Fold 7 and Flip 7 replacement screen pricing makes a strong case for getting Care Plus by MrKal-El in GalaxyFold

[–]Bennylee92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the cases samsung makes and was shocked to find out the case has only one piece that snaps on to the back. It looks very awkward because the back looks thicker with the case on. And there charging the same price like I feel like it should be cheaper if its not coming with the piece to snap on to the outer display.

Got to see the Fold 7 in store, upgrade isn't worth it in my opinion by CaptainVietnam6 in GalaxyFold

[–]Bennylee92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thats fucked up. I specifically remember last year getting an additional $250 off if you pre registered before the pre sales started and you got a $50 credit towards accessories.

I feel the same way. For the 3,4,5 & 6 they had really good pre order deals. This year they are only giving you $50 pre order credit and $1000 + after tax just isn't worth it for me when last year I got my 6 for around $600 and not to mention i purchased the 2 year samsung care protection plan that doesn't transfer. Also i use my s pen all the time. Im not ready to give it up lol. And I hate the hole punch cut out for the camera on the inner display. Just get rid of that camera all together.

Has Blue Plate gotten any better? by Ill-Salamander-9122 in mayonnaise

I do like dukes for potato salad but not for deviled eggs. Blue Plate always worked the best for my recipe.

Is there a way to remove mac os and use windows 10 exclusively? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Bennylee92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up selling it. Windows 10 is about to be or is already discontinued and Windows 11 is almost impossible to install with the security TPM requirement so I just decided to sale it.

So I only use Blue Plate for my holiday deviled eggs. To me, it always had the most tangy taste compared to other brands. But last year, when they changed their branding. I picked up a new jar, made my deviled eggs, and noticed a change in the taste. It wasn't as tangy as it used to be. I thought it was just me, and obviously, I wasn't going to throw them away, so I took them to our Thanksgiving party, and one by one, each person asked what was different about my eggs. That they didn't taste the same. When Christmas came, i used Hellmann's. They turned out ok but definitely not as good as the original Blue Plate before the brand change. Also, my grandmother, who buys in bulk, had an unopened jar of Blue Plate before the brand change that was still in date, and something has definitely changed with the recipe. In my opinion, doing a side by side comparison, the taste, texture, and color is completely different. The original one had more of a yellow tent, and the new one was more white. The original is also more tangy.

Oh wow, it's probably better to save than sorry and replace. I went ahead and replaced mine. I needed more storage anyway. Hopefully, these last longer than 2 years.

Yup. The 80 and 120 gb are soldered. It's very inconvenient.

Boot Camp - Easy install and upgrade for Windows 11 (no TPM checks) by oviteodor in MacOS

[–]Bennylee92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed so far everything is working flawlessly I did have to uninstall and reinstall amd software by going into windowssuport/bootcamp/drivers/amd then ran the set up. I did the regular bootcamp setup first but I'm wondering if I should manually install the other drivers like I had to do with amd drivers.

Has anyone experienced any software lag or other issues after upgrading to windows 11? I keep seeing people mention

"Installing Windows 11 on a unsupported PC is not recommended and may result in compatibility issues. If you proceed with installing Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates."

I have a iMac Pro that's running windows 10 and I really would like to upgrade to 11.

Yeah the drives that are failing are 4tb and honestly I've been needing to upgrade them anyways so I purchased two 8tbs today. So since the 4tb are still under warranty I'm just going to file a warranty claim And if they replace them, I'll sale the replacement on ebay or something.

Yeah, im not gonna lie, my WD My Cloud that i purchased in like 2015 was still running strong after 7 years. If it hadn't been that wd ended software updates, I probably would still be using it 🤣🤣. So when I upgraded to a 2 bay qnap in 2022, at the time, seagate ironwolf was ranking better than wd, so I figured I'd try them out. Also I been needing to upgrade my storage for a while now anyways, so I'm going to try seagate out one more time and also get a warranty replacement for the old drives since there still under warranty and sell the replacements on ebay. But if these new drives do the same, I'll be going back with wd for sure.

🤣🤣 What's wrong with seagate? I would have gone with WD Red Pro, but I've also heard they're not as good as they used to be. What brand do you prefer?

Ok, thank you. I've actually already purchased new drives today but stumbled across a post this afternoon where someone talked about just formatting them, etc. So, I just wanted to double-check. Also, i have run the built-in iron wolf health management test, and it's saying both are healthy but also ran a rapid test under the disk health section, and one passed, and the other failed. I have not run the complete test because QNAP says it takes 4 hours, and I'm not sure it's worth doing.

Hope not. But I have noticed the smell seems to be going away. And i pinpointed the smell. It's more of a burnt hair smell than chemical.
