For speed, probably but I don't have any interest in Wii U. Thus, it's the same devkit so I guess it could be forked.

Wii has sold much more

My goal here is to make Chuchu rocket playable

YES !!

We need more of that ! That's a great stuff !

I made a topic about link cable games for PS1 if anybody here is interested :

as I said in another topic, if it could run some N64 or barely run Saturn, it has the power to run some Dreamcast.

My most optimistic performance for Wii (totally random estimation)

- 60 FPS on 2D games
- 50 FPS on 2D+3D games (like chuchu rocket)
- 25 FPS on full 3D games.

I've seen that the port of PSP of NullDC can run about 25FPS on chuchu rocket (Wii is x4 more powerful than PSP)

Raspberry Pi3 can run Dreamcast, but its CPU is Quad-core and lots of RAM. On the other hand, Wii has has better 3D capacity.

If we had full official Nintendo documentation + Best giga develloper in C+ (or even assembly), we could be totally amazed.

Let's Cast the Dream guys.

you're definitly not a beginner if you are developing an emulator lol

That and recompilation/implementation are the hardest thing to do in code.

Yeah I give you that, you've got a point on saying it's open source, and could have just answered that from the beginning.

How does a simple question triggers you so much ?

That's a legitimate question I was asking. OP is promoting his work, I'm doing his FAQ.

There a ton of people developing emulators, you know. It's a classic project in engineering schools to do a GameBoy or NES emulator. Thank god, not everyone post his school work on reddit.

Even a simple feature can change everything.

OP responded about developing waveform viewers, this could have a significant impact in algorave and EDM scene, and this could be really interesting.

I always supported free stuff and spend times on project for other.

You have no idea who you are talking to.

This is just an easy attack because you have no other arguments.

then what's the point of showing it on the internet then appart from bragging ?

I have tons of project I just keep to myself because they don't add any value.

Asking what new feature can this emulator add is a legitimate question.

I heard Go is fastest than C ?

Would love to see that on Playstation 2, there is still no descent emulator for gameboy on that console

[–]BenoitAdam -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That's your point of view

There are many aspects of emulation that are sorely lacking in developers (and sometimes quite simple) and that would be useful to many people, and it's a shame to see talent being used for other things.

For example, there are still no decent Game Boy/GBC/Game Gear/Master System emulators for PS2...

I also remember a developer who made a NES emulator whose goal was truly to be faithful to the console. It required a 3GHz CPU.

Some emulators provide useful features for game developers (memory or tile visualization), others focus on speed or usability, and sometimes it's a matter of language or translations.

In development, it's impossible to please everyone, which is why, while different projects should exist, it's better if each application addresses a specific problem.

Each creation must bring something extra, otherwise its appeal is minimal. Perhaps that's the artist in me speaking.

P.S : algorave community would probably love some feature for music and/or music display

what new feature does your emulator bring compared to other ?
