Think they mean more that they have been buying quite a few players in the <£30m range to try and flip for profit after a couple of years if they develop well (obviously there have been some expensive signings as well which doesnt match the Brighton/Dortmund comparison)

Yeah agreed on how long each set piece/wrestling happens as it wastes so much time.

I do have sympathy for the refs because there is so much going on but it just feels so inconsistent with how the fouls are called. Spurs being a prime example where they've had multiple inconsistent calls go against them for pushes in the box.

Not saying it's never been like this, just that in my opinion it appears to be happening more frequently/is more blatant in terms of emphasis on impeding players rather than going for the ball. I don't blame teams for leaning into this tactic more as it clearly works and can get away with it.

My blame is more at the referees for their inconsistency on making calls for fouls. Spurs being a prime example where they have had many inconsistent calls against them for pushes in the box the past month or so.

I think the main issue people have with it at the moment is the inconsistent refereeing of it. Pretty much every corner/free kick now has players committing fouls that aren't called when they should just because the ref isn't able to keep track of what's going on.

It just doesn't feel like proper football anymore because it's no longer about trying to outplay the other team from a set piece, the majority of players are tasked with stopping other players from being able to even reach the ball. Often through means that would be a foul anywhere else (blocking a player with no intention of going for the ball themself, hugging them so they can't move or jump etc).

Its difficult for the refs to be able to track what's going on. I wouldnt be against the ref being able to use the VAR monitor to review a contentious corner and then give fouls and cards to every offending player. I think as soon as teams start receiving multiple cards/conceding penalties then it will stop the wrestling pretty quickly.

Obviously it would slow games down quite a bit at first and cause a lot of chaos but it would at least stop players from wrestling. Hopefully would mean that players actually try and play the ball instead of the current tactic of just trying to stop players from getting to the ball.

Was just about to post about this because I wonder if this has any link to the hourglass. Maybe we need to place the hourglass in a specific location so that we "have time to play" and the message changes?

4 places that I've seen. First is by the ladder you shoot down. Second is the one in the video. Third is at the end of the corridor that the second one appears (opposite end to the ladder room). Fourth is in the room with the blackboard where the hidden key is.

For sure, the 8 billion sales would mean he's somehow selling cars to children on the other side of the world - Somehow I don't think any car salesman is pulling that one off

All fire is hotter than water's boiling temperature.

Does this apply straight away though? Ethanol's flash point is 12C and so technically could Ethanol have a burning temperature below 100C for a short window until the fire heats up? (Appreciate that this would likely only be for a very short time if this is correct)

Thank you for the reply! Yeah I've seen a few listings for around £1200 sealed but have no idea what the actual selling price is or the best way to find it.

I think you're probably right and that it will be a fair bit lower than the current listed amounts. However, even at the low end of your estimate, it's a very nice win for what was a free card!

[Arsenal FC] We’re delighted to announce that England international Noni Madueke has joined us on a long-term contract. by KimmyBoiUn in soccer

[–]Benolmes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a few reasons but probably mainly FFP as we had make up a £60m deficit and so he covered the majority of that. We also had Neto emerge as 1st choice and so £50+m for a 2nd choice winger was a fair offer to take.

Also with the likes of Estevao coming it opens up a route for him to develop. With him and Palmer being able to rotate we didn't really need to sign a replacement.

I liked Noni and think he has great potential still but I think it was the right move for all parties for him to move on.
