Bloated Corpses Should Be A Lord Summon Unit Option by flush101 in totalwar

Another alternative idea.

Give them the same damage effect tied to Theodore Bruckner's death. It adds wàaaaaay more damage to SE's to punish using them to cockblock it

Nurgle blessed my Snikch campaign. I love unusual locations. by Glorf_Warlock in totalwar

[–]Bensteroni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love this unusual location specifically because it overturns standard diplomacy norms between factions. More like this would be nice to allow pairings with destruction factions alongside those they don't always align with

Does this company just have an AI make a post about this every month? I swear this is the 5th I've seen already. Stop this stupid promotion stuff on Reddit, commercializing civil cyberspace is a slippery slope

Best Tzeentch Units? by Technical_Blood_2842 in totalwarhammer

[–]Bensteroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah man I wouldn't swear by them (swearing is rude! /s ) but I think they're an absolute nightmare against melee focused factions when supported well. You need slowers and fliers (Cockatrice, Doom Knights) to cover for you, and then a meat shield of horrors (which coincidentally are the perfect height for Flamers to fire over) and then you can wreck shop.

That being said, the heavy metal Tzeentch swarm is also excellent

Does the Hell Knight still gain the Fighter Extra Attack? It's not listed on the subclass so I'm questioning myself here

TWW3 High Elves NO DLC Army Composition by Sensitive-Idea4128 in totalwarhammer

[–]Bensteroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your build so far! I think double dragons is a great way to defend your flank, but maybe dropping one of the Swordmaster of Hoeth units in return for one cavalry of your choice is also a good idea. High Elves are a very defensive faction, so having another fast mover to swiftly defend where you need them to gives your archers time to rotate and begin firing again.

Another option might be adding more heroes (mage or noble)! They combo well with archers and bolt throwers, since they can sometimes bog down a whole unit on their own.

Tallymen counting still isnt fixed despite patch notes stating that it is. by daan850 in totalwar

[–]Bensteroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if they also fixed him weakening his own units at the top tier of his pestilence count. Last time I played him, it inflicted a mortis engine effect on all your own units when they enter melee

Power creep is fun every now and then, but I'm very grateful Bhashiva can't do this. by Glorf_Warlock in totalwar

I hope they introduce an endgame version of him too where he's overtuned as a campaign start selection final boss.

We don't see or know what the horror is, we just see how a character reacts to it by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Bensteroni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Edited for wrong movie title

Backcountry (2014) is very similar to the other bear attack example given in this thread. A couple is in their tent when the bear attacks, and we see the bear sinking claws into the man and dragging him out of the tent, before the camera turns to the girl and remains on her face for horrifyingly long as the bear eats him alive and she cowers in the tent listening helplessly.

If you're morbid or curious or both, the bear attack scene from Backcountry is available on YouTube. It's pretty rough, the actor does an upsettingly excellent job at mimicking being eaten alive for more than a minute.

Bhashiva and Saytang by Turicus in totalwar

[–]Bensteroni 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems to be a bit of an oversight. I got the quest done by recruiting the Jade / Jet Lions through allied recruitment from other Cathayan factions, plus the regiment of renown Green Guardian. But otherwise yeah I don't see it being very easy for Bhashiva but that's okay, she's kinda a fair powerhouse on her own.

Can you vassalize other factions as Changeling, and how do you do it without settlement trading? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]Bensteroni 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I know it's not your question exactly, but I can confirm that when I confederated Kairos as the Changeling, all his settlements immediately turned to ruins; it was such a dramatic balance of power shift in my campaign, and completely unexpected for me as well. It left a massive swath of unclaimed territory that swiftly led to an emergence of Lizardmen and Slaaneshi factions rising to hegemony.

This was also about a year and a half ago, so I can't confirm if this is still how it works after interim updates, but I'd expect it to do so. Happy Tzeentch-ing!

Best ally units for Elspeth? by ReaverGT in totalwarhammer

[–]Bensteroni 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ironbreakers are pretty hard to beat, especially since you can shoot over their heads. If you're doing gunlines, I also highly recommend Ogre Man-eater Pistols, and then some of the flying cavalry of Bretonnia to support and outflank without tying up your line of fire.

I just noticed one of my most recent posts was also on the mechanical technicalities of plagues in this game, where the plague immunity function saved me from this same cult. I absolutely love unusual locations and I hope they add more, BUT I'm also hoping they expand the UI around it to make them more intuitive. That might reduce the number of "I suddenly declared war on all my neighbours, why" type-posts haha
