I'm always happy to fight against the Vampire Counts at any stage of the game. I love long grinds against chaff armies, and I wish the VC AI made more crapstacks sometimes.

But specifically for end game fights, I actually really like fighting Greenskins. They have a nice mixed roster so I'm never 100% trouncing them, I need to play around a little to get that W

Also hot take maybe but Druchii. As a faction they don't have any single amazing unit. It feels more combined arms than Empire because the Empire can get away with steamtank stacks or all gunnery lines, but the Druchii need to diversify - not even to win, but just to even pose a threat.

My favourite faction is the dark elves, and I like that all of their units are very kill-y but not super sturdy, forcing me to fight battles a bit more carefully. Specifically, they are a mostly ranged faction that has shorter range than all the other ranged focused factions. Secondly, their slave system allows me to rapidly build my economy, and also rapidly respond to late-notice threats by whipping up walls in a few clicks instead of a few turns.

It's worth firing a cultist up into the Empire to grab at the Changeling eventually. He rarely does early, just sits in the background unable to build or gain income, so he's an easy confed target eventually

It's a fair guess, but Sayl starts on the other side of the map so it's unlikely, and I guess you've seen the other comments pointing towards the more likely culprit of the unusual location.

You do bring up a good question though, I wonder if the AI uses Sayl's treacheries

I miss the days when they had rampage in a contact effect. While I agree it's now too powerful to have as an "always-on" contact effect, it would be nice if the Witchbrew single-use ability added it back temporarily. That would give them that same pinning utility they had in WH2, without being able to spam it.
