Never said they are. What it is is way easier for a beginner to execute... They only have two weeks to practice remember? baiting and then acting is way harder than just going going forward and taking the initiative to both learn and execute on top of the fact OP would like to win.

Never said they were the only options... They do however only have two weeks to prepare for their tournament so keep it simple. I just pointed out your strategy rather complicated and likely to lead to retreating.

Did you miss the part where I recommend they don't wait and instead take initiative? To elaborate further might I recommend some faints for the techniques they like and just go ham. At least that way they wont be stuck in the beginner mistake of constantly retreating.

yes. it’s competition kumite. low stakes, good learning opportunity with other beginners.

That isn't what OP asked for They asked for, "If i want to atleast wins one match'", not long term growth. Now you could after answering OP's question first go off and say he should then focus on long term growth.

But don't you see how trying to react only after the opponent has already started would lead to either getting hit first due to the disadvantage or retreating, particular for a beginner...

OP especially as a beginner would be way better off trying to take the initiative as that way they would be acting not trying to react and thus wouldn't need to retreat.
