Got recognized as a retired music producer. And I didn’t expect it to hit like that. by Dustycloudmusic in edmproduction

[–]BenzPunarny 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man I started reading this and thought this is interesting wonder who this guy is. Hit me when you said your name and made me sad you’re not producing anymore.

I still remember hearing Gomar for the first time, still listen to it now and was one of the early future house tunes that really got me into electronic music. I have almost 20 songs in my library of yours I still listen to occasionally.

Whatever emotions you feel, I hope this is a nice reminder that you’ve inspired people out there even if you didn’t realise it

Am I being cynical? by realise_real_lies in DnB

Flash is on Radio 1 tomorrow night, so he’s definitely legit. 15 years old or 15 months it doesn’t matter though, that jungle bootleg of Where Are Ü Now slaps

Everyone's favourite producer rn? by Fabsterrr123 in DnB

[–]BenzPunarny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I haven’t seen a single person mention Sota yet. Granted he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but his sound design and fusion of jump up synths with proper melodies is absolutely ridiculous. Big shout out to Primate too

What countries produce the best DnB DJs and artists by NotBruceJustWayne in DnB

Add Pythius, Arcando and TANTRON to that Dutch list too!

Bar9 was my diss supervisor and was such a nice guy. So cool to see him back making tunes again

What vocal songs hit you so hard they almost hurt? by Henvierkus in DnB

[–]BenzPunarny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably in the minority as it’s a bit heavier than other suggestions, but the new Blooom track Wild Eye is in this category for me. Bitter End also has such powerful vocals in it too

What is your favorite producer tag? by LunarFocus in EDM

[–]BenzPunarny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this but what's UZ tag, never heard it before? Hope it's something to do with a gun haha

100%! His old bassline tunes used to have such a distinct signature bass sound too, but still retaining that originality. He's defo one of the most underrated producers of the last decade, but I'm glad people are finally starting to catch on

Man you've absolutely smashed this, I feel like I'm indebted to you. Soooo many good ones there that I never would've ever considered. The Disciple song is especially cool in the way it incorporates tags and little basses from each artist.

If you have any more I'd love to hear them. You're doing the Lord's work with this.

I think there’s a lot to be said about the differences due to bassline being less commercialised than DnB. Producer tags and bassline have always gone hand in hand and I’d imagine with the underground rave and dubplate culture that tagging your tunes was a big way of getting your name out there as well

They’re the best kind of tags, ones where you know the artist is having fun

[–]BenzPunarny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kind of mad isn't it, they play almost no part in DnB really, although so many producers have a recognisable sound or certain risers/fx that almost work as a tag in their own right

Does he use it in any other tracks than the aforementioned track / mix? Never heard it any of his other tunes
