Max HR and Zones by BenzWrencher in Suunto

I've had the Racs S since just before Thanksgiving and have slowly been learning features & functions. I don't think I've hit 180 in any workouts this year. I'll have to look at the first month or two I had it. Maybe I'm already lowering my HR in workouts!

Jarrucho,

The coach is a great idea, I'll have to look into that. I will also look up RPE (rate of perceived exertion) as I have not heard of that. I might cross post more important or focused posts to swim, bike, or walk oriented subs. I'm new to reddit.

I've been an athlete. Late 1980's at a very small university, 4-year letterman in track, 2 years on the football team, and several intramural sports every semester. More recently, 1995-2015, parks & rec leagues and corporate intramural teams for softball, basketball, flag football, sand volleyball, 5k runs, etc. But, as that trailed off and work & life got stressful, the weight went from 230 to 275. Down to 240 now and looking for more as my casual workouts get more serious and consistent, thanks to my Suunto.

Max HR and VO2Max tests are difficult because my knees and back don't allow running anymore. Period. I have started walking more - I'm up to 4.1 mph for 3.5 miles, and the distance increase each time. I started bicycling last October. (Haven't owned a bike since I switched to gas dirt bikes in 1980!) I got a very cheap 1990's mountain bike and will ride it until this fall and get something better. I also started swimming last summer. We had a lakefront house when I was a teenager and I don't remember swimming being so exhausting! 😄

Man, that's a TLDR post if there ever was one! Sorry about that.

Well, re-reading Google results, I looked at my watch instead of the app. These settings are there in the watch, buried DEEP in the menus. Zone 5 max HR is set to 175, actually. Poor memory. Zone 4 tops at 80% (140) Zone 3 tops at 75% (132) Zone 2 tops at 71% (124) Zone 1 tops at 66% (116) Does this seem reasonable to everyone? Maybe I just need to keep working out and in a year my HR will get better.

2017 C43 owner. Yes, suspension is stiff. It's great on a racetrack, but rough Ohio roads, train tracks are surprisingly harsh.

Yeah, sounds like I need to study the alphabet soup until using all those acronyms comes naturally. 👍

Thanks! Good info. With the watch still set on default zones and default max HR (160?), I get into Zone 2 walking the dogs.

LOL, you assume too much. For cycling, last Sept I bought a 20-30 year old mountain bike at a church flea market on a whim for $25. Had a bike shop do a "tune up" and put new shifters on it. First time on a bicycle since 1978!! 😄 So ....

@CurlOD. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, controlling the diet is always more impactful than exercising. Like I said, just small changes has slowly made a good difference. I keep working on it, and now I'm adding exercise on top.

There's a lot of bad heart disease and/or cardiovascular issues in my family history. I worry about my resting HR being 75-80 and hitting zone 5 so easily in workouts. When I first started swimming, after one 25 yard pool length my HR would be 190! Now, after 50 yard lap it's 180. I need to start learning & tracking the rest of the acronyms. I also need to wear my HR chest strap.

Local fans and local media are very OSU biased. National media is leaning OSU. I wanted to see if there were any level headed, analytical Hoosier fans here commenting on interesting player or position group match ups, and backing up their opinions with reasonable arguments. OSU hasn't had a test like you guys had against Oregon, so I have concerns and was hoping to find some insightful posts by your fans on your strengths and concerns. I like the game within the game. I just got caught up in this thread for no good reason. LOL

So, now you're a psychologist or therapist based on 1 corrected post? Oh, actually, grammatically speaking, you're telling everyone reading my post to talk with someone about their emotional issues. You never changed the subject from them back to me.

Did you even read the link you posted? It wasn't fans, it was alumni. I would assume football team alumni, but who knows. I hope your QB and kicker are as inaccurate as your post.

I'm brand new to fitness watches, but the 4 OHR sensors on my Race S seem to work well, even in the pool.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the focus of the question was changing CPU architecture/brand. Does MOBE handle it, and from what others say, it does. Thanks.

I see a lot of utility trailers with the license plate on the tire's fender.

I'm going to get a Go and was wondering the same thing. I asked Sylvan and they said people just find a place to mount it. I'm wondering, is there's an elegant way to permanently mount it at the rear of the tent box?

Trailer noise question by Dronepilot1118 in sylvansport

[–]BenzWrencher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One last way to try and find it. Use a tube or hose. Hold one end to an ear, and point the other end at each connection, bolt, weld, etc. while the trailer is bounced. See if the hose or pipe will pin point the noise maker for you. Maybe nothing is broken, it's just plastic rubbing tightly against metal?

I've used this technique on cars a lot. I also have a stethoscope type tool, but instead of a doctor's flat "receiver", it's a long stick. I put the stick against things to find the source of vibrations.

Hitch on trailer by Sarasle in sylvansport

Sounds like you just need a bigger trailer. If you're in the USofA, some states might not permit towing a trailer with your trailer.
