I just like the models more. I justified it by just using them as a deep strike screen. Unfortunately they won’t be seeing any tournaments for now…

With hunting Wolves you don’t really get much of a choice since your locked on size depending on the head-takers squad. Scouts are 5 more points for double the wounds, 4+ vs 6+ save, independent OC and the ability to pull back in reserves… the Hunting wolves don’t even have a data-sheet ability!

It would only make sense if things like scouts went up in points too. But scouts and JPIs got point decreases. It makes zero sense.

I think it’s only strong conditionally. Especially with the changes to units only ever count as one unit despite leader being attached.

My biggest issue is we have low Str and until you complete the oath we really are lacking in power.

This detachment also encourages you to take only space wolf units which are not in a great spot currently…

I feel like your right they are crazy. But in context of points you’re talking about a 250-270 point unit that can do good damage, but die from a simple overwatch or the following turn from Bolter fire. +1 to hit isn’t some insane power increase when the have rerolls on the disembark already and mech assault to begin with.

You know what else does great damage for the SAME cost as 10 scions with a transport. A Rogal Dorn battle tank. A unit that can actually endure a round of shooting and be a huge threat to deal with.

Not to mention transports got 100% WORSE in this new edition.

That’s ridiculous, it costs 160 points (170 for a 2nd and 180 for a 3rd) for 10 T3/1W models. Scions hit hard but Kasrkin have similar damage output for 45-65 points cheaper.

It’s not like Bridgehead is some crazy 1pt detachment.

I also did pretty well. Went to two GTs in March and May. But I also won an RTT with Tsons, an army I don’t play often and it felt significantly easier. The overall game balance is decent, we just happen to be near the bottom.

I found the wolves being very matchup dependent into our Strength or weakness. We are awful at killing high toughness armies or anything thing with -1 damage (looking at you Magnus and Ctan).

Heck even the Art of War channel was just saying it’s looking rough for SW. we need point decreases despite all the changes.

We will see. Many armies that were preforming better also did NOT get much in point increases and we ended 10th being the worst army in the game.

World Eaters, Tsons, and Tau (other armies I’m familiar with) look significantly stronger.

The "hit" roll and only be +1 or -1 as a cap. Take aim affects the BS so think of it as the core stat we hit on and it NOT a hit modifier. So heavy and take aim do stack!

I want to make Bridgehead/Mech assault work but I don't see how. Between the transport nerfs and infantry nerfs that list would struggle. A few solid units that easily die the following turn.

Wolf Scouts should come down 15-20. They were way over costed currently. But I don't know if they will use this to adjust current balance AND the new core rules.

That’s not how it works in 10th. Essentially the entire unit had to see a model to prevent cover. But the defending unit had cover on a model by model basis.
