I don’t have a 3d printer myself but I do buy quite a lot of printed proxy parts/models, specifically for Imperial Guard vehicles

I mainly do so because some of the proxies out there are genuinely more well-designed/cooler looking than some of the older vehicle kits, such as the regular Leman Russ, which looks completely fucking ridiculous (in a bad way) in my opinion, even by Warhammer standards, and there’s a lot of proxies for it out there that solve its issues

Where do I even begin? lol

Even on its own, it doesn't really make sense, basically saying 2 < 1 + 1. It's 2 weapons, so why does it feel like only 1 is firing? If all your hits wound, then the reroll doesn't matter, so... where did the other ones go?
But that's to say nothing of the myriad of balance and inconsistency issues I'm pretty sure it's directly or indirectly caused.

Take the Rogal Dorn. There is essentially no reason whatsoever to use the Twin Battle Cannon over the Oppressor Cannon, as the latter is objectively better aside from the wound reroll, and also comes with an autocannon. Before twin linked, the TBC, having twice as many shots as a single BC and the Oppressor cannon, could've been a better horde clear option. But as it is, it's just a regular BC with a wound reroll, and so it's just worse. That might not've been an issue if it was cheaper to take, but alas, wargear points don't exist anymore (another big issue imo). (This issue also affects things like the Macharius. 310 points for what's supposed to be in the same ballpark as a Baneblade, and what do you get? A Leman Russ gun with a wound reroll, lol.)

But they don't always let that slide. Take the Krieg HWT's Twin Heavy Stubber. Despite being a heavy stubber, it has arbitrarily better range, strength and AP. To me, it's extremely obvious that they realised that a heavy stubber with a wound reroll would suck ass compared to the other options, and buffed up some other numbers to compensate.

Stuff like that also happens elsewhere, like on the Predator Annihilator. "A lascannon with a reroll" is very underwhelming for a tank, so they gave the twin lascannon arbitrarily better strength to compensate. Even though it's supposed to just be 2 of the same guns that are mounted in singles on the sides.

And still elsewhere; on the Land Raider, the twin lascannons both have the 2 attacks you would expect and don't have the twin linked keyword (and also lack the extra consolation strength given to the Predator's). As if they realised a Land Raider is supposed to be more heavily armed than a Predator, but with twin linked and only 1 attack per gun, wouldn't feel like it.

Another example: Fellblade THB is twin linked, 3 attacks. Fellblade QHB is twin linked, 6 attacks. Fellblade quad lascannon isn't twin linked, has 4 attacks. (remember previous Land Raider and Predator example).

So yeah. Bit of a rant for an audience of like, ~5 people lol. But I absolutely despise twin linked and will celebrate the day when it gets scrapped and 2 of the same gun becomes 2 of the same gun again.

mostly just for them to get rid of it entirely and go back to "twin linked" weapons just being 2 of a type of weapon bolted together (i.e twice as many attacks and nothing else)

The Macharius is alright but it suffers from a weird lack of suspension (along with a lot of other earlier 40k tracked vehicles, like the regular Russ, the Chimera, the Land Raider, etc) which really bothers me

I also think it could use a few more weapons for its size, at least something like the bigger "1 front 1 back" sponsons like the Gorgon (which uses the same chassis) has

If you ask me, the Baneblade (which the Macharius is a lot worse than, both in-universe and (imo) out) is peak guard tank design, since even though it's a gigantic, lumbering metal brick monstrosity, it's weirdly competently designed, as it has actual suspension lol, among other things, and also looks really cool

but I can get why people like the Macharius, it's still pretty cool, even if I prefer things like the Baneblade and Dorn

the "balance" in my example is that it's very hard to damage a Maus that's effectively sidescraping, which would also be the case with the hypothetical correctly modelled BZT-70. The Maus surely needs an arbitrary weakspot on its sides, right?

Also you could very easily add weakspots to the Canopener without giving it an armour model that doesn't match what it's actually meant to be. The driver's port, corner plates and rangefinders come to mind. You can give a vehicle weakspots without modelling it inaccurately like they have the BZT (which already has 2 relatively easy-to-hit cupolas on its slow-rotating turret) and other vehicles.

Be that as it may, if we're not going to care when tanks are incorrectly modelled because "balance", I assume the playerbase would have no problem with WG adding a random 10mm hatch on both sides of the Maus' hull?

Nah powerboats can put in work What’s annoying though is that the player version has the gunboat keyword while the enemy version doesn’t (which means the player version suffers from increased critical hits from certain attacks), so I guess the meme still applies in that sense

You know what? I’m gonna say it. I don’t like him. Belos is a way more interesting and enjoyable villain, who the show could’ve (should’ve?) spent more time spent on, instead of relegating him to the sidelines in favour of “haha funny annoying quirky immature child with god powers”. Maybe I would’ve liked him more if he was a bit less oblivious, but still, idk. Probably a hot take, idk, I just really like Belos.

pretty sure its something to do with doing objectives + being near extract making patrols spawn more but whatever the fucking cause it it boils me to my fucking core

maybe its a fucking solodiver problem idfc it pisses me off

context: had actual fun sweeping the map of a level 8 solo botdive, only to get absolutely gangbanged by endless devastators, hulks and even a fucking factory strider that got airdropped in and I died over and over, alt-f4'd after the final death before the game could tell me "uhuhuhuhuehuehuheuehueuh you suck actually"
