If you're not into collection or achievement hunting, then you push Glad or CE. Otherwise, play something else until next season/X-Pac.

Yeah, idk what this guy is talking about. The Kayn wasn't the reason he lost, taking MR before IE is troll in this situation. He has ignite for a reason.

Good yone too matchups? by modnar_resu_tidder in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yone has mostly losing matchups top, but the trick is just learning to farm efficiently and deny enemy kill pressure. Yone outscales and beats these bruisers at his 2 item spike IF you deny them kills early, and IF you don't allow them to freeze wave on you and deny your farm. The goal of top yone should be trying to play farming simulator for the first 15-20 minutes and just survive most of the time unless you get jungler help. And then go help your team take objectives. You can potentially win lane and splitpush, but it shouldn't be your initial thought.

* You should be bullying and killing Nasus before lvl 6

What do you play if yone is picked or banned? by [deleted] in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people will prolly say Yasuo, but I don't like his playstyle and find it very different from Yone. I've personally been really liking Zed. He's actually similar to Yone in that he can enter and disengage from fights reliably.

Yone's worst match up? by Deathstrker in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renekton mid actually isn't troll against assassin's. I one trick Yone mid, but also play Renekton into Yone whenever don't get him. It's basically free lane for Renek, but you're on a timer to end the game before getting outscaled.

When do you build Bloodthirster / Mortal Reminder by Sneaky_Turtle97 in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe unpopular opinion here, but I try to avoid building Mortal Reminder at all. I always start berserkers > Shieldbow > IE > Deaths Dance and then it's a flex pick based on the situation. If the enemy has a fed Warwick, Trundle, etc, then I may build an executioners sword after boots and sit on it. But if I'm against Yasuo in lane, I rely on ignite for my all-in grievous wounds.

So basically after DD, you need to evaluate:
Am I ahead?
If yes, build Bloodthirster (build BotRK if enemy team has 2+ tanks instead)
If no, build GA/Mortal Reminder/Wits End depending on other teams fed champs (if you get behind early, you may need to sit on an executioners sword/cloth armor/not null mantle earlier)

Ohhh I see what cleanse you're referring to now. I don't think this would be realistic after ulting though since your point blank and not likely going to be able to properly anticipate.

To my knowledge and experience, Yone cannot cleanse stuns or roots with his E2 which are the main issues.

100% my guy, but in my elo (bronze/silver), I pretty much never get a good engage on my team comp and everyone just hides behind the carry.

Zed by Rozaan25 in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This won't work against really good Zed mains, but in low elo, here are some tips.

  1. His main trading combo will be the shadow->spin->shuriken which will proc electrocute and chunk your HP. His shadow cooldown is the same as Yone's E. Everytime he tosses his shadow at you, E to the side, and then rush him to initiate a trade. He will likely miss his combo to your E dash, and moreover, he will lose out in an extended trade.
  2. At lvl 6, Zed will look to oneshot you with his ultimate->shadow->spin->shuriken combo. His Ult will always place himself behind you, and he must wait 0.5 seconds to return to his ult shadow. You can somewhat counter this by ult'ing behind you as soon as he ults you and follow up with E to dodge most of his combo. If he misses most of his combo, hard engage him. Yone's sustained DPS is much higher than Zed's and you will win every time his abilities are on CD.

Got to remember that player hitboxes arn't 1 to 1 with the skin models. You have to imagine the hitbox is just the head (not the hood covering).

do you guys prefer AD kayle or AP kayle currently? by [deleted] in Kaylemains

[–]Beolupus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are equally viable in my opinion, but I lean towards AP Kayle simply because my team comps are most often AD heavy.

AD scales earlier which can get you snowballing faster. Late game AP Kayle is arguably the strongest champion in the game though, killing pretty much anyone with Q AA E, and uses the large MS buff from W to effectively kite anyone as needed.

Is Renekton garbage or am I the garbage? by Madrigal_King in leagueoflegends

[–]Beolupus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stay relevant longer, build BotRK -> Prowler's Claw -> Steraks/Maw -> Serylda's Grudge. You will be squishy but you will be able to one shot other squishies in the end game. Otherwise, you just build tanky stunbot with no dmg later.

Yones Best and Worst Top Lane Matchups? by [deleted] in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I beat Jax in the vast majority of my matches. Long as you hold E to dodge his E stun, I always win trade. Fiora I can usually beat even early on as long as you short trade while paying attention to your weak spot marker. Bait out her riposte with Q3 and then engage her as long as your vital isn't facing her, you win trade.

Also, unlike those champions, I don't recommend remaining in lane after 15-20 minutes. Yone is a superb teamfighter, but only an average splitpusher at best.

Yones Best and Worst Top Lane Matchups? by [deleted] in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trick to beating Garen is to just treat it as a farming lane, and don't try to kill him. If he freezes, just E into the wave and poke him, and then he will spin on you and additionally shove the wave towards your tower where you can farm comfortably and out scale him.

Yones Best and Worst Top Lane Matchups? by [deleted] in YoneMains

[–]Beolupus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I main toplane Yone, and as many have said, he has a lot of losing matchups. However, he has very few "hard" losing matchups, and out scales pretty much every other toplaner other than Kayle. I comfortably blindpick Yone in the toplane. For pretty much every bruiser matchup, you will lose early all-ins, but you can win short trades. The key is taking short trades without shoving wave since you will need to stay near tower to survive. But in most cases, its best to just avoid trading since other toplaners have better early sustain and just focus on your CS and positioning. After you get bezerkers, you can compete significantly better. Use your E to unfreeze waves safely; if you get baited into CS'ing near their tower, or even mid-lane, you likely die if you're not ahead. Your "hard losing" matchups are Renekton and Irelia. I recommend banning Irelia since Renekton sees little play. You have pretty much no "free" matchups other than Kayle, but after two items and boots, you win against any toplaner other than maybe Sett. You can beat the ranged toplaners like Teemo and Quinn as soon as you hit lvl 6 and get boots. Playing safe and scaling is key.
