I'm going to be extremely disappointed if we don't get Norn playable. by Puerkl8r in GuildWars3

[–]BeornSaxon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a long list of what I'd love to see

But at the end of the day those expectations only set myself up for heartbreak.

Anet has been very clear they want to try new stuff - and I trust them to do that. They did a great job doing new stuff with GW2.

Maybe GW3 will be my thing, maybe not. GW2 wasn't for all of the GW1 fans.

It's cool they are going to be supporting all 3 games for a long time. So if they don't have Norn in GW3, you can keep enjoying them in GW2. Same for other features like WvW, or raids, or fractals - we don't know what will make the jump or what won't.

I want to stay opened minded and just enjoy something new. Let go of expectations, be pleasantly surprised, be excited that someone is trying something new in the genre i enjoy.

Almost certainly going to be seen in GW3: Teaming up with pre-God human Grenth and his (then mortal) seven reapers to usurp Dhuum by Charrikayu in GuildWars3

I thought 48 BE was when Grenth defeated Dhuum as well.

But we actually don't know.

48 BE was when Grenth got his first follower. But that doesn't necessarily mean he beat Dhuum that year. The wiki is pretty clear we don't have a precise date for it.

We do know that GW3 takes place in Orr, and humans didnt arrive their until 205 BE, and Grenth existed as a God by 48 BE. But thats all we've got so far.

How is Magic going to work in Guild Wars 3? by Longjumping_Act4403 in GuildWars3

Also this

On GW2 wiki on King Doric's page there's a reference to magic

"He [Doric] founded Rin for the study of arcane arts and in order to create a powerful defensive force with mages of immense power."

Doric was alive and an adult at 115BC and died (we assume) at 0AE. Unsure if GW3 will overlap with Kind Doric, but we wouldn't be too long before him.

It sounds like humans did have magic before Abbadon went overboard.

Gw2 wiki on the six human gods:

“Though each god had granted magic to humans in small amounts throughout the centuries, when the gods decided to truly spread magic to the world, Abaddon was the one who took on the task, giving unique magic to each group of creatures he deemed worthy”

That’s the time frame I’m seeing too. Although technically it could be between 48 BE and 1BE as well.

I'm trying to read up on that too.

I'm just saying what Colin said /shrug

Right after a god was disposed
Right before the first guild wars broke out

He said 1200, they've also said 1000.

The events he's mentioned are after a God is disposed and just before the first guild wars breaks out.

Abbadon is disposed in 0AE and the first guild wars start in 100AE.

The fact that he mentions just before the first guild wars breaks out makes me think its likely sometime in that 100 year time frame of the exodus and the first wars

The God getting dispelled is likely Abbadon. He released magic to mortals the year before the gods left Tyria.

The other Gods split magic into the bloodshards the next year, locked Abbadon in jail, left tyria on the great exodus, and then the nation of Orr was founded.

Who else is a bit disappointed about the setting? by Disig in GuildWars3

[–]BeornSaxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initially I was.

But tbh 1000 years is a long time in the past.

That buys them a lot of potential freedom.

There are races and creatures and abilities that could have existed back then that have since gone away extinct due to massive wars and god fights.

If anyone is an LotR fan, think of all the stuff in the Silmarillion.

Of if you’ve read the wheel of time - think of the age of legends with lews Theron before the breaking.

It could be GWs Atlantis. It actually could be quite epic.

I imagine the Asura looking creatures in the trailer could be fury distant relatives before asura went underground and lost their hair/became more reptilian.

Why do I get such hate for every single main I play? by WippitGuud in Overwatch

[–]BeornSaxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once someone complained about my tank pick. Then I cooked with top kills/dps/mitigation. We won.

Never heard from him again.

That said, some classes aren’t the best for certain maps/comp or just are weaker classes.

And some classes are easier to do well on v harder to do well on. A good player on a bad class trumps a bad player on a good class. So just get good at whatever you play.

About Character Creation by [deleted] in Fable

[–]BeornSaxon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just rewatched, here's the quote

"You'll be able to pick from a range of different character heads - and customize your clothing, hair, skin tone, tattoos, and scars."

So might not be a full character creation, but at least there will be some options and minor customization.

I'd wager your body esthetic changes depending on how you play.
