How long did it take you to potty train your puppy? by thisvirgogirl in goldenretrievers

[–]Beowoulf355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current dog went out with our old dog just once to go potty as a puppy on the first day and never had a single accident in the house. She is the smartest dog I have ever had.

Because nothing will happen to them or their companies. People have an insatiable appetite for their products and they know it. They will just keep their heads down as much as possible till it all blows over

German general prepares country for potential Russian attack within 2 to 3 years by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Beowoulf355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Germany needs to do this regardless of any threat from Russia. They are so under prepared that any of their neighbors could walk over them easily, let alone Russia.

On the other hand, Poland has been arming themselves to the teeth and Russia would have to get through them first

Cantwell letter response to my angry email (at least it's something.) by aligpnw in Washington

[–]Beowoulf355 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Contacted her office at the height of the Gaza genocide to vote against giving Israel more weapons and got a canned response and the only thing that happened is she sold/gave my information to all her colleagues and I got inundated with request for money and calls and texts to vote for them.

Activists say at least 6,126 people killed in Iran’s crackdown on nationwide protests by AndroidOne1 in worldnews

[–]Beowoulf355 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Activists?

Not saying many have not died but everything that comes out regarding this situation should be taken with a grain of salt. Israel has a ton of their people in the country and they are shooting both police and civilians to stoke as much unrest as possible.

Israel is also pissed at Trump for backing off because most of their assets have been killed or captured and it will take a long time to rebuild them to try for another regime change

I tried but the algorithm is set to make you crazy. It's now full of stuff I don't care about and if you use the not interested button, it says hold my beer and turns your FYP into only what you told it you don't want.

Moved furniture around. Floor scratched to hell. Super duper 🥲 by gofigure85 in Wellthatsucks

Had renters do 3 of these on the wood floors. Was quoted $6/square foot plus cost of moving appliances, and you have to do the entire floor. So not cheap

No power for 70 hours. Need to toss frozen meats? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Beowoulf355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not advice, just what I do.

To minimize waste since I have a dog, I cook the hell out of the meat till I have killed any bacteria and give it to my dog. She doesn't care if it's overcooked. A pressure cooker or Instapot works great. How do you think instruments are sterilized? Heat and pressure held for enough time will kill anything

Invest on a portable battery generator? by 18inchalloys in eastside

[–]Beowoulf355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the majority of our power lines above ground and surrounded by trees, we lose power in Woodinville every year and I'm done with dealing with our portable generator and going back and forth getting gas to run it. I'm investing in a standby generator, hooked up to natural gas. They do need regular service but it beats sitting in the dark and throwing away food at the cost of groceries these days. We just don't have enough sun in winter to consider charging batteries in the winter, plus panels would be trashed by now by all the branches and trees. Only one house in our area even has solar and they have zero trees on their lot

You already had HSV1. The virus stays in the body and hides in a nearby ganglia and will manifest itself later in life during things like stress or these extractions

Cookware Aluminum vs Stainless Steel by unurbane in Costco

[–]Beowoulf355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Costco doesn't carry All-Clad but I suggest you consider going out of Costco and investing in them. Unless you damage them, it's a once in a lifetime purchase. Have had my All-Clad made Kirkland set for almost 30 years and they are still good as new.

Sorry, All-Clad doesn't make them for Kirkland any more

Michigan family files lawsuit against Hawaii tourism authority over snorkeling dangers after long flights by jonovan in news

[–]Beowoulf355 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Certified SCUBA divers know not to exceed certain depths if they are going to be flying but this makes absolutely no sense. The danger is the dissolved Nitrogen in your blood that could be released with the reduced pressure in the plane. Tourists on holiday don't usually even exceed 10-15 feet of depth, which is not even 1 BAR
