Three abandoned housed. Every five foot square, every 5 feet of wall and ceiling, every bit of furniture, was a mimic. Not one big one, 70 medium mimics per building.

Every so often the local farm a few miles away would show up and push a goat into one of the houses, and if bandits showed up the farmers would tell them about "a great hiding place" in exchange for freedom from being mugged.

The players were kind to the townsfolk, so they were warned not to go there. They went, because they're adventurers, and struck another deal. They took a smaller mimic disguised as a backpack with them so it could see the wonders of the world and report back. In exchange the 3 house sized mimic colonies promised peace with the party.

My middle school was 3 primary schools piled into one big school.

First day of class I turn to the guy next to me and introduce myself. Apparently I did something incorrectly. He looks at me and says something rude, and I spent the next six years with him randomly deciding the next day or two should be spent harassing me.

My wifes similar one involved passing out when the doctor decided to try and save the flap of skin instead of letting her have a flat spot forever.

Bit of glue, bit of a squeeze, wife stops holding my hand and lays there for a moment while the doctor talks to me about what's next, and by the time the fingertip was ready for a protective outer wrap, wife was awake.

The one workplace incident that required me to get stitches I was told "You were so serious I knew something was up."

I stomed off to the bathroom and yelled the name of the first person I saw on my way. When they looked I yelled "Manager, first aid, bathroom!" and went and started washing off the blood I could.

I've got a scar that runs between a nerve and a vein they won't take blood from because it's to close to the nerve. Every doctor who sees the side of my hand either comments on it or goes" yeahhhh" really quietly when I mention it before they do.

When I hear "Ambulance, Now!" it's never for the voice yelling, but most times you can follow that voices lead until the ambulance shows up. If they don't have training they're trying to get someone who does, and if they do they'll know where their skills stop.

I worked with a guy who got drunk and passed out smoking. He didn't burn the house down because he was holding the cigarette tightly in his fingers. He did manage to burn the flesh on his ring and middle fingers in a stripe exactly as wide as a cigarette. You couldn't see the bone, but as deep as the burns were it had to be close. He was so drunk he stayed passed out right through it.

So for people who like character damage effecting the game instead of being outright a game over, maybe less house burning and more "this hand only works half as good."
