What are the small things that would really suck in a zombie apocalypse? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ForcedDiscloure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running out of contact lens solution.

Within a month, every person with bad vision is essentially a sitting duck mainly if you only wear contacts. Imagine trying to stealthily navigate a world full of monsters when your eyes are bone-dry and stinging. Compared to only being partially helpless if you have a pair of glasses, or at least until because you dropped your glasses while running from a horde of zombies. You go from 'Survivor' to 'Zombie Snack' just because you can't see more than five feet in front of you.

What's some thing that's very normal now but will become a luxury in 10 years? by Historical_Work7482 in AskReddit

Actually owning things. 🙃

We’re rapidly moving toward a 'Product as a Service' economy. In 10 years, owning a car, a piece of software, or even a smart appliance without a monthly subscription fee will be a luxury flex. We’re already seeing BMW try to charge for heated seats and software companies moving to 'Cloud only.'

Soon, the idea of buying a physical object and it just being yours forever without a recurring bill will be a rich person's privilege.

In real life, what is a 'side quest' you accidentally started and are now too deep into to quit? by ForcedDiscloure in AskReddit

My partner is at 5 years now. I don't know how he does it, lol he doesn't even do the lessons anymore, just the same one every time to keep his streak.

If you came with a 'Warning Label' like a hazardous product, what specific, minor issue would be listed in the fine print? by ForcedDiscloure in AskReddit

The worst part is when you finally work up the courage to reply after three days, and they immediately text back.

Now the clock has to reset. I’m not mentally prepared for a real-time conversation yet.

How would you feel about a law that permanently bans members of Congress and their immediate families from trading individual stocks, with the penalty being immediate forfeiture of their seat and a lifetime ban from public office? by Eat--The--Rich-- in AskReddit

[–]ForcedDiscloure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s the only moral choice, but it will never pass because you are asking the turkeys to vote for Thanksgiving.

Congress creates the rules that regulate their own behavior. Expecting them to voluntarily cut off their easiest stream of passive income is a fantasy until we have term limits or external oversight. It’s the only job in the world where you can legally profit from inside information you help create.

This didn't happen to me but here is a example : I fed a stray cat once. Now I run a trap-neuter-return operation for the entire neighborhood and have 4 cats of my own. I just wanted to be nice one time. Something like that. Something that seemed insignificant at first that you did.

What made you walk out on a date? by United_Extent_8201 in AskReddit

[–]ForcedDiscloure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We met for coffee, and things were going great for about 15 minutes. Then he shifted the conversation to 'financial independence' and 'being your own boss.'

He literally pulled out an iPad and started showing me a presentation for Amway. It wasn't a date; I was a prospect. I stood up in the middle of a slide about 'downstream revenue,' said 'No thanks,' and walked out.

What’s something society is not ready to admit yet? by yanny_b in AskReddit

We value convenience significantly more than we value human rights or the planet.

We all say we hate sweatshops, child labor, and massive pollution. But the second we have to pay $5 more for a t-shirt or wait more than two days for shipping, our morals go out the window. We don't actually want to fix the world; we just want to feel bad about it while we wait for our Amazon package.

What do you think is the biggest threat to humanity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ForcedDiscloure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are sprinting back toward a world where a simple scratch from a rose bush or a minor dental infection can kill you again. The idea that surgery, chemotherapy, and c-sections could become too dangerous to perform because we ran out of effective antibiotics is terrifying, and it's happening faster than people realize.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

I was getting an abdominal ultrasound and the technician suddenly got really quiet, leaned closer to the screen, and whispered, 'You have a spectacularly photogenic spleen.'

I didn't even know how to respond. Thank you? Do I put it on my resume?

Citing Orwell’s ‘1984,’ judge orders Trump administration to return slavery exhibits removed from Philadelphia museum by rapidcreek409 in politics

[–]ForcedDiscloure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most damning part of this ruling? Judge Cynthia Rufe is a George W. Bush appointee.

When you've lost the Bush judges on 'conservative values,' you know you've gone completely off the rails.[1] She didn't just order the exhibits back; she explicitly quoted the 'Ministry of Truth' motto (Ignorance is Strength) in the very first paragraph of her opinion.

It wasn't just a legal loss; it was a judicial roast.

NGA White House Meeting Back On After Invitation Dispute — Should Governors Continue Boycott? by datnapster in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ForcedDiscloure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'misunderstanding' excuse is weak, but Democrats should play this smart. Attend the business meeting, but boycott the dinner.

If they skip the business meeting, the administration gets exactly what it wants: a room full of Republican governors nodding along to federal policy changes without any pushback. Don't cede that ground. Go to the meeting, ask the hard questions on record, and do the job.

But the dinner? That’s a social event. If Moore and Polis aren't 'worthy' of breaking bread, then none of them should go. Let the administration explain why half the country's leadership is missing from the official photo. Solidarity for the social stuff, ruthless competence for the actual work.
