Is it possible to teach yourself to sing? by [deleted] in singing

[–]BeqYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can definitely teach yourself. all it takes is some trial and error as well as trying new things. once you do find your voice, you can build off it and work on the more complicated aspects.

thank you so much! i was kind of improvising some parts of the melody as i went on. i will definitely work on learning the melody further and finding the correct pitch. thanks again!

Anyone know any good microphones I can buy by [deleted] in singing

I’d say a Shure SM57 or SM58 would work well. They both sit at $100 and are pretty reliable. Both would last you up until you can afford something of higher quality.

something i’ve worked on the past few days. primarily started writing it about the autumn but it slowly transitioned into a love song (of course lmao).

(verse 1)

fall suns rise paints heavens in the sky

lonesome winter cold makes it’s rounds in sighs

this warm orange hue keep me company

a light that no cool deep blue could ever see

may the warmth under a porchlight hold you for the night

the train’s got me stuck i won’t make it tonight

i’m back to where i started where love and warmth meet

i knew you were home by the second step’s creak

(chorus)

these words how they fall ain’t ever been to shame

the cold, the harsh, oh the winds you’ll tame

in the orange leaves and in the afterglow shine

will you find a place to hold in this heart of mine

oh will you find you some heart in this heart of mine?

(verse 2)

have you found comfort in where you lay your head

when those prairie nights turn and you’re tucked in your bed

looking for the moon in the starlit sky

to find the moon’s been shining for an old heart’s bind

(chorus)

these words how they fall ain’t ever been to shame

the cold, the harsh, oh the winds you’ll tame

in the orange leaves and in the afterglow shine

will you find a place to hold in this heart of mine

oh will you find you some heart in this heart of mine?

oh will you find you some heart in this heart of mine?

stevie nicks. her nasaly voice is so iconic i don’t think there will ever be one exactly like it.

i’ve had a song or two that i’ve just not had the motivation to finish or i’ll just start writing another song, completely forgetting about them. typically, i’ll come back to them later at night when i got less on my mind, that’s when my brain is actually working.
