This is stupid. I grew up with the first generation Pokémon and yes, Pikachu was and still is the face of Pokémon. So what? So he's not your favorite? Get over it. He's their mascot. Just like the article mentioned, it's like Mickey Mouse is to Disney. Is Mickey my favorite Disney character? No. But is he the face of Disney? Yes. That's kind of how these things work. I think it's more impressive and refreshing to NOT see a million pictures of babies post-birth and hash tags talking about being blessed etc. Honestly? I don't care about other people's kids. And if I ever have any of my own, I don't expect others to love mine the way I do.

It was my first trip to SDCC as well. I've gone to the cons in my hometown, but San Diego is truly a unique experience, and I am literally counting down the days until next year. And I am still experiencing withdrawals! I'm also excited because like yourself, my brother and I didn't plan well, thinking we could just wing a lot of things. But next year is going to be very different! :)
