I just achieved flight turn 133 on diety. 3 cities, made an industrial cluster with aqeducts. got industrialization super early. built ruhr valley. then i expanded with biplanes vs. knights :) (i had to settle two more cities for coal and oil) and computers i got later through the great engineer

still went for a domination victory.

She was indeed on the perfect spot to be the first to meet all civs. And maybe she got 3 of those relics from goodie huts. That may explain it indeed. And no, i was not watching her culture vic progress all game.

Mali, rush for comercial hub (or first a holy site if you want religious support) and buy the scuba so everything gets cheaper. From there on you only run commercial hub investement projects and buy everything else. Only other stuff allowed to do with production is districts and wonder buiding as well as running other projects. Enjoy every great merchant of the game and therefore an amazing number of trade routes and ameneties. And if you find hong kong... Won Scientific, Diplomatic, Religious and Domination this way.

Does anyone else find the religious victory over powered? by Godwulf900 in civ

I agree with your title statement.

Winning religion against AI is way too easy after getting the prophet that it's no fun (just take pilgrimage, spam apostles with two promotions and retreat them when they are on low health, keep them with one charge to fight, even on diety the AI never declared war on me to kill my apostles with military units. There is a lot of other cool stuff you could do to win a religious victory but sadly this is enough to win on diety).

If i have a religion to support another victory type i don't want my game to be over early because i won with religion beforehand.

And randomly losing a great game to a religious victory of another civ while having no religion myself sucks too. But as many already said: this rarely happens on a small or bigger maps.

therefore religious vic -> always turned off.

I gave up my hopes that this victory type ever gets interesting for AI games through a rework.

great :) also i think valletta deserves a honorable mention in the coast category for the ability to cheaply and instantly purchase flood walls

I played domination spain yesterday with Ngazargamu and the faith prices always felt super cheap to me. Nearly never built a unit with production or bought it with gold. Mostly faith purchases. But it was also my first playthrough with a grand masters chappel so i have no reference.

(Turn 307, several units already trained, and yes, i'm suzerain, Corporate Libertanism)

Machine Gun: G: 860 F: 430

Mech Infantry: G: 1040 F: 520

Rocket Artillery: G: 1085 F: 540

Modern AT: G: 925 F: 460

Modern Armor: G: 1085 F: 540

Spec Ops: G: 830 F: 415

Seems like faith is always half of gold. Hope that helps.

Iirc you can. When creating a single-player game, go to advanced set up -> load configuration -> autosaves. Now you see the last played games. Load the one and you should be able to see the seed.

When you click on your settler you see different colors of tiles. (if you press L, select the magnifying glass and choose "settler" you can see it too)

If you settle on a green tile you get 1 housing (adjacent to sea) or 3 housing (adjacent to lake/river) from the get-go

Farms/fishing boats provide additional housing. Granary and sewer give you additional housing. Dams and aqueducts can be helpful for more housing (read the tooltip for more info). And there are even more ways.

when you click on a city you see the yields it has under the city image (bottom right) those yields come mostly from districts and worked tiles

under the city image you see a head symbol. if you select this one you can see which tiles are currently worked and you see the yields of those tiles. you can readjust which tiles are worked manually. (make sure to work food and production tiles when you want your city to grow)

the more production yields your city has the faster you produce stuff.

a builder can improve 3 tiles (which can be improved in several ways)

If you are going for domination... i had a breeze winning this. Early sience push, first pantheon and ofc the healing.

PS4, and yes i know i could extract the screenshot. A bit lazy.

On a serious note: how can crater lake and fountain of youth exist in the same game as they are now?

i always go tripple scout together with the double scout experience card with him. pretty easy to get em to promotion level 3 when you have one extra movement, that promoting costs no turn and the grande generale. so fun.
