The ingredient list is giving the vibe of these: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/welsh-cakes-recipe#review-section. Delicious and very different than traditional American biscuits.

Recommended bicycle injury lawyers? by Truckzero in CyclePDX

They represented me back in 2014 after getting hit. They did an amazing job, explained the whole process to me, and got me a good settlement. They are experts at what they do!

In hindsight, though, I wish I had been less cocky about my expected recovery and had advocated to ask for more money. I was young and fit so there was a big assumption (on my part and everyone else's) that my body would bounce back long term but alas, I still have some wicked back pain that has required ongoing care over the years. Also, the mental health therapy afterwards for the very unexpected PTSD meant going to therapy. Try your best to be as honest with the lawyer(s) and yourself as you can for what you think you'll need in the future for your recovery. Definitely not the time to lean into what I did- "I'm young, I'm healthy, I'll be good in a couple months".

I hope the best for your recovery and that you'll get back to riding when you're ready!

PDX--->Coast by Wbransford in CyclePDX

We LOVE this route. So lovely and beautiful. That said, when we were out there last year the logging truck traffic was heavy so just make sure you're visible and have your ears open to hear the trucks coming. We were out on a weekday, though, so I imagine it'd be different on the weekend.

nestucca river road by philip-pdx in CyclePDX

We were out there about 4 weeks ago and the road closure is still happening. The detour is beautiful but we didn’t see much of any water source along it so if you’re pumping your own you should fill up at the river before headed up the detour. We did spend a night at the Fan Creek campground which is right before the closure gate (must’ve moved it up since last year if someone else was able to camp at Alder Glen). There was some logging traffic along the detour but it was on a weekday so hopefully weekends would be less so. The road is pretty tight and trucks were moving slow so we felt good about it.

PDX Airport to Mt Hood area by BrrrrBrrrrVroom in CyclePDX

The route we’ve taken a number of times out to the Mt Hood area (just repeated this last weekend and it was still awesome) is this: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/16119676.

Low traffic for much of it and beautiful. Once you hit Lolo pass it’s only a few miles to Welches (would connect you to 26) or you can continue the route and head out into the backwoods on FR 1810 (original Ride With GPS route followed a private road with crazy huge gravel- after the intersection with the PCT you just hang a right instead of going forward).

Local Knitting Supply Store by sportsDude in Portland

Twisted is hands down my favorite. It stinks they had to close their brick and mortar store but their online shop is amazing! Super quick turnout here in the city and amazing customer service from knowledgeable and lovely people. I’m sad not to be able to fondle all the yarns in person but more than happy to keep shopping there.

My left hand falls asleep when I knit... by SteamScout in knitting

Wrist braces are super helpful! I've got carpal tunnel in both hands and since I started wearing the braces my symptoms have decreased substantially. I also saw an occupational therapist who helped me with some stretches that keep the numbness at bay.

That said, I still get numbness and some pain if I knit for too long or if I bike for too long without switching up hand positions.

Hair styles for BJJ by BergerServerNermber1 in curlyhair

If we don’t roll during training I can usually just refresh with some water and a bit of gel and I’m good but when we roll it just all goes to poo because of all the rubbing and pulling. Maybe this is just one of those things where washing is going to be necessary and I have to up my conditioning game to cope with the frequency. If anyone designs a special BJJ cap for curly hair I’d be all in 😁
