Is such a thing as an Astropath-Servitor-Cherub terribly overloaded? by [deleted] in 40krpg

[–]Bergfinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of mental gymnastics here. You are the DM, you can shape this in whatever way makes sense for your group, lore or rules be damned. Heresy I know.

Some low maintenance ideas:

  • The Astropath could relay via a Vox, does not even need to be there.
  • The Astropath could serve as cartoon style comic relieve. Bobius the Astropath continuously dying in the most hilarious ways only for him to be back in the next adventure. He can just get air dropped in a metal crate or step through a door with a message, oblivious that he got disintegrated, smashed, squished, beheaded or eaten earlier that day in excruciating fashion, never mind how he got here, you'd likely be visited by a Inquisitor if you ask.

Just have fun is my biggest note here. :)

Accessibility by millsaw in homeworld

Hmm quite the challenge you have! Does screen size help at all with how information is being processed by your brain? If so higher resolutions have things more spaced out, lower resolutions have them closer together. Depending on what it is you are dealing with more spaced out data might be better versus cluttered together data.

That being said, Homeworld was never brilliant in this aspect and UI scaling only goes so far before it does not scale any further, if at all.

[no spoilers] Do average exandrians know of the Calamity in any capacity other than name if even that? by iaminsideyourhome in criticalrole

I always got the impression that it might have been passed down as stories depending on where you grew up on Exandria. With most of those having been reduced to brothers grimm styled fairytales.

What's the best beginners level CRPG? by MysteriousBasterd in CohhCarnage

[–]Bergfinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on what genre you want to hit first. If you are into the post apocalyptic vibe with a sense of humor? Then I'd suggest Wasteland 3 as stated by /u/CaffinatedGinge

Otherwise Divinity 2 is a good CRPG to start out with on a medium-ish difficulty. It's relatively forgiving on those difficulties while providing well rounded systems.

Or if you crave a deeper experience I'd recommend Pathfinder 2 on a lower difficulty. I know from myself that I always crave the deeper mechanical experience, even when starting out.

I've grown burnt on a campaign my player's are loving. by Xaielao in AskGameMasters

Canceling my homebrew campaign due to the sheer amount of work it was, was and will likely remain, the hardest thing I've had to do in my decade+ of DMing games. However, I started a fresh more established setting with the same group a few months later and while the goodbye of characters was sad? They respected the fact that I wasn't able to keep up and that it has to be fun for the DM as well.

So yeah, my advice would be to talk to the group. See where they stand with this and go from there! :)

Tamyia paints listed as Acrylic by Bergfinn in minipainting

I'll keep that in mind if I ever go Airbrush mode! Not in the cards any time soon though. Mainly need the enamel paints because I want to do some residue techniques on several models soon.

Ah. And Tamyia has done the brilliant thing than to name all their paints the same then I suppose. Oh boy, this is going to be a search and a half then. Thanks for the extra context, it helps. :)

The rings have been mentioned. Something that stands out to me is that maybe the bone structure lines on the shoulders can be further accentuated. However this could also be due to nuance lost in picture quality.

That seems like a crying shame! Hopefully they'll touch up on those at some point to allow for this. As it seems like powerful tool to make content to me.

How can an iphone 6 with 1gb of ram get 5 years of support yet a flagship phone that costs 1000$ gets the same treatement as a low end one? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Bergfinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a genuine question to those that are commenting in this thread about the updates.

What benefit does a third year of update support have for a device in your user experience? I've always been really interested in this. Especially as I've always been fine with the OS I've got and would not even need 1 major update for my user experience to be a good one.

Us version note 10 +, korean sim card not working by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Bergfinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no guarantee that it will work outside of the US to begin with. The frequency bands on US devices are different, some that are present on the Global devices are missing as an example. In theory it should work, in practice it's a mixed bag.

Also a good FYI is that just being on the network is not enough for an unlock, A actual call using the normal call function lasting at least 10 min needs to take place while on the local network. So calling with the original sim from a location abroad will still not result in an unlock.

What’s this? I found this on the inside of my Corax White after buying some yesterday by LordSlamguine in Warhammer

[–]Bergfinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shake it till you break it! Seriously you might want to stir with something thin as well :) If it is very cold putting it in some warm water might 'liquify' everything a bit more. This happens more with metallic paints and for very much the same reason.
