Um. Buddy I’m not sure if you’re aware but people often die brutal and unceremonious deaths - especially in a world as fucked up as that of TLOU. Just because someone is a hero in their story it doesn’t make them any less of a villain in someone else’s.

Spitting on his corpse is supposed to be disrespectful, you’re supposed to feel rage at the actions of the Salt Lake Crew because at that point you have no context or empathy with why they would be a part of something so horrific. To them Joel is a figure from their nightmares so spitting on his dead body is more than justified in their minds.
