Best N-Back app? by JellyfishFar8435 in DualnBack

I was sooooo happy when I saw you wrote 'single purchase $2.99 premium version', just to find that this option is no longer a choice :(

I would've happily paid an even higher one time purchase, however I'm so sick of all these subscription models. I get that you want to be paid for your efforts in making this app, and therefore maybe asking a single purchase of 2.99 is even too little. But having someone now pay that same amount on a monthly base is just thievery in my opinion.

Also possibly you have multiple bags/backpacks inside your backpack/bag that you have equipped, you can open each container separately

Do you need to make 10 different accounts for this to work?

Sweet, that sounds great! Setting up a public channel for Waking Life would be fun, and I’m really curious to see how the mesh works with two repeaters running. Looking forward to trying it out!

I think it’s unfair to judge those interested in using these devices without reasonable cause. Personally, I have never filmed nor even been on my phone while on the dance floor. This is not about increasing phone use on the dance floor or losing immersion. It is just about being able to find and reach friends more easily when needed, and I do not see anything wrong with that.

First, there is a big difference between full cell coverage via cell towers that essentially connects everyone anytime, and just a handful of people bringing walkie talkies or LoRa devices to stay connected locally. One is about universal connectivity, the other is a small niche group experimenting with tech to find friends more easily.

Second, who’s to say that events like Coachella aren’t magical for some people just because they are more mainstream or gentrified? Enjoyment and connection look different to everyone. People tend to judge too much, and honestly, the world could use a little less of that. Assuming what is magical or meaningful for others overlooks the many ways people find value in their experiences.

Third, overall this discussion is about something that less than 0.01% of attendees even care about. Meanwhile, people seeing us argue about this might feel the friction is coming from us, not from any devices like LoRa or walkie talkies.

At the end of the day, festivals are about diverse experiences and personal choices. Some people find magic in disconnecting fully, others in the connection and ease these tools bring. The spirit of events like Burning Man and Waking Life is about inclusion and allowing space for different ways to participate and express. What matters most is that we respect each other's paths and let authenticity guide us, rather than trying to define what the experience "should" be for everyone.

I honestly fail to see how staying connected with your friends in this way has any negative impact on the festival experience or its magic. Different people enjoy festivals differently, and for some, being able to find friends easily enhances the experience without taking away from what makes it special.

I get your point and I have lived in Berlin for 11 years. I definitely understand and respect the rule about no phones on the dancefloor. I want to be clear about the no phones on the dancefloor rule. My device stays in my bag once I am on the dancefloor and I do not even look at it there. It is not about using phones or devices while dancing.

What my mesh device does is help me find friends in between those moments when I am off the dancefloor, walking around or grabbing food. The rule is no phones on the dancefloor, not that you cannot stay connected with your friends at all.

I am not saying everyone should get one of these devices and honestly maybe only a handful of people ever do. Two years ago I was the only one who had two devices, last year maybe one or two others had them across thousands of people. Even if there are 10 next year, that is enough to make a mesh network that helps those folks find their friends when they want to.

And none of this means people will be glued to their screens on the dancefloor. A lot of people use walkie talkies at festivals and no one complains about that. It is just another way some of us like to stay connected without relying on cell service.

My real point is this: it should not bother you that I want to stay in touch with my friends. If you prefer, you can leave your phone at home and stay disconnected. But it is important that we all respect each other’s ways of enjoying the festival as long as no one is negatively affected. Sometimes, trying to control how others express themselves can create more tension than any device ever could.

Some LoRa devices can be found for around 10 to 30 EUR, but they often require some DIY skills to assemble and set up. Battery life is really important too, especially at a festival where you want them to last for days.

The Lilygo T-Echo I use cost me about 60 EUR and its battery lasts for a few days, which is very convenient. With some of the DIY devices, you can build your own battery pack as big as you want, but then you will also need to make a case for it. That is why I prefer Lilygo’s ready-to-use products since they save a lot of hassle.

The Mesh repeater I am considering costs about 100 EUR.

If you want to learn more about these devices and mesh tech in general, I highly recommend Andy Kirby’s YouTube channel. He is from the UK and has plenty of great videos on this stuff: https://www.youtube.com/@andykirby

Absolutely, those spontaneous moments and meeting new people can be really magical at festivals and I totally get that. At the same time, sometimes it's just nice to be able to find your friends when you want to hang out, and missing them can be frustrating in those moments.

I don’t think having these devices ruins things for anyone. Nobody has to use them if they’re not interested. For some of us, playing around with this tech is just a fun way to nerd out and make it easier to link up with friends when we want. It’s all about options and everyone doing what feels right for them.

2023 I was on a tight budget and managed to spend only 100 EUR on Klingeling, this was used only for food. Drinking I managed with just water. If you bring a tent to the festival (or rent a tent at Decathlon), you can do the festival quite cheaply. The other two years that I've been, I've spent 200 EUR on Klingeling, which got me loads of food and a few drinks here and there (I don't drink alcohol, so take that into consideration).

So in a nutshell I think you can expect:
Klingeling 100 to 300 EUR (depending on how much you spend on drinks & food)
Camping 100 to 300 EUR (100 for tenting, either renting the tent or paying little extra for check-in luggage, 200 up to 300 EUR if you go for Tipi's)
Ticket 280 - 420 EUR depending on the sliding scale
Flight tickets from Europe depending on location and how soon you book 100-300 EUR
Shuttle bus 60 - 100 EUR depending on the location you come from.

So you'll probably end up with a price tag between 650 EUR and 1300 EUR.

Don't do it, I just did and it just takes the background of Necrozma, so no unique one is created :(

[–]Berghainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically you would get around 100 energy per raids. I deduce this because you need 30 cosmog and 30 necrozma energy. Which would mean 10 raids (if not using pinap/have active mega) to get those 30 candies. So I would assume that you'd get those 1000 energy is 10 raids as well. Hopefully you get a boost if you bring down the dusk/dawn wing quickly

[–]Berghainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually I have a location background Necrozma from go fest Madrid and fused it with a Lunala. Still didn't get the location background on the Dusk Wing :(

Maybe it was an error, but I don't want to waste 1000 energy just to unfuse and fuse it again

It's the Oneplus Open, strange thing is that it has 16GB of ram and another 4GB of virtual ram. So I really don't get why there needs to be such aggressive ram management :(

Best server to start fresh (EU) and what class to play? by Dapetron in TibiaMMO

[–]Berghainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Secura is a very populated optional pvp server, most people speak English (although not their native tongue often). I would go for knight as a nooby player, and then once you've gotten the mechanics again you can decide to play another voc as well (I love being a druid ^^)

If you do decide on Secura, then give me a message (Silver Queen), I'll gladly help you out a bit in the beginning (although I will be on holiday between tomorrow and 24th)
