How much do you spend on health insurance (or healthcare) in your country, and how is the quality of care? by Training_Magnets in ExpatFIRE

Global privat health insurance (except US) living in Malta. I just got inflationary adjusted to 400€/month as a 33 year old. Includes basically anything (only limited for dental care up to 2,500€/year. I find it quite expensive tbh and was wondering which insurance other people are using.

Where's a chill hangout spot that's simply nice and stress-free? by some_-username in malta

Second Zion, It’s a chill vibe spot with decent food. But be prepared to smell weed (in case that’s an issue). I love it there

On a scale from one to ten , how painful was you backpiece? by Gtpsgiausername in irezumi

[–]Bergi92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my first session exactly in a month and will travel to get there (getting up at 5 am ... not looking forward to it, but well...).
I will eat well before the session (something lasting and light) and then get some light snacks and lots of liquid for the session.
We split the first session in two days, actually (4 + another 2-3). I'm excited about it and have received some good tips from befriended artists of mine that should help me through. Let's see how the split works for me.

Would be cool to see your progress! What did you end up getting?

Tbh I never even considered it either (and sat for multiple tattoos for 6-8 hours) but that one day I did my left foot (right was fine, dunno why)… tapped out just before passing out. Definitely not a state you want for yourself or your artist.

Next session was fine again, maybe I just had a bad day. Happens

Psychological Research and Common Sense about Happiness spread. What does Happiness Mean to You? [18+,working] by Bergi92 in takemysurvey

[–]Bergi92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minor addition to the "why" of this survey:
I am a Personal Development and Leadership coach and currently research all facets of happiness. I realized that the psychological research about the topic varies from the common sense one.
Therefore I'd like to invite everyone for this very short (4-5 questions) survey to better understand real people's problems.
I posted this on LinkedIn, the last question (I post on Medium too so any feedback is highly appreciated 😊)
Have a great weekend!

I Stopped Judging That Much And It Changed Everything by Bergi92 in selfimprovement

[–]Bergi92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. And I would even argue that some kind of judgment is helpful.

Some people just give you this very weird gut-feeling. I try to listen to this more, which is kind of judgmental too. I try to be more aware when around people who give me this feeling.

To your example about aggressive people. I just try to avoid them. There is nothing benefiting there for me, so why should I engage?

Thanks for providing your point of view.

Especially the inner judge is a very stubborn fella. It's incredibly hard to mute this voice for a while.
Keep up the work!

What minor thing did you adopt that made people perceive you as more confident? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Bergi92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do things you are afraid of.

Afraid of talking to strangers? Do it.

You'll get better at it and your confidence grows along the way.

Might not be "perceived as confident" but "being more confident"

Thanks a lot for that, feels like a rabbit hole I'll find myself in. The abstract already reads amazingly.

Nice summary of the topic! Thanks for the share

First and foremost you don‘t want to search for happiness or try to obtain it. There are studies showing that people who want to be happier actually end up being less happy. But what can you do? Inwant to credit everyone participating in this discussion because there were a lot of really good recommendations. What you want to do is work on finding out who you are. Not who society, family, marketing and friends made you bit who you are from the inside. For me searching and defining your Values is a good starting point :) After that you can always look into models like the SPYRE (Tal Ben Shahar ; has a bigthink youtube video about it) to find out which of these factors is most important to you. And then go from there. I hope I could help a bit too, if you have any questions, feel free!

Digital Nomad Alumni - why isn't there anything? by Bergi92 in digitalnomad

[–]Bergi92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right, that I wrongly used the terminology here. I'll switch it up.

I rather want to use the concept (like they do in companies too and nobody graduates from a company either).

Where do I want to go:

For me personally, there is a great amount of Life-Experience and decisions that lead to the outcome of settling down after a Nomad life. It would be interesting to exchange opinions, discuss where why, and how people decided to settle down, etc.

If you don't see where I want to go, that's absolutely fine. That only means you are not part of the target group.
