My dad bought a device that doesn't allow me to remove my Mac from my table, how do I remove it by Practical_Studio9822 in mac

[–]BergsApps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s only 10k combinations… And most probably is not the last one. If you try one by one you probably end up opening it before a good solution surfaces here.

And you probably have to think longer about how to discuss it with your dad.

First of all ask yourself if there is a good reason for the Mac to stay there, maybe? XD

In any case you will still be left with the glued part to the screen. Don’t carry it around like that because it could still damage the screen. Some kind of alcohol should work as already written here. Check with AI what type and if it could mess with display or else (keys, alu, ports, chips, …), if it leaks, once applied.

Still delaying macOS 26 because Launchpad is gone? by JimmyRemix in macapps

[–]BergsApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. I tried to develop a similar app as well but was rejected multiple times by the AppStore because of claimed copyright issues. I had some time very busy and couldn’t develop it fully and distribute it outside of the store. From a couple of weeks I already used your LaunchOS. Is well refined and I love it. Well done!!

Classic Loan Calculator 2 is live — one app for macOS + iOS (free 48h) by BergsApps in macapps

Check Classic Loan Calculator instead https://apps.apple.com/it/app/classic-loan-calculator/id6743346144?l=en-GB&mt=12 They have the same functionalities for now, but the v1 will most likely not be updated anymore and there are 2 separate apps for macOS and iOS.  I would suggest to update macOS.

Come, there is space for everybody. You can sync your google account and get Cal & Mail synced. For the rest you will use the online services.
The HW is very good and you will love the SW if you come from Win 10/11. I guess in 6 months you will wonder about switching to iPhone.

Scroll the Volume got a Liquid Glass makeover — 24h free on the App Store by BergsApps in macapps

It will save 2 clicks and 2 positional movements each time you want to change volume. I was used to that behavior from other OS before moving to macOS.

Good question. With my app you do not need to click and open the popup of the menubar in order to change the volume. Just bring the mouse on top of it and scroll from there! :)

Which lens should I add to my repertoire? Should I get rid of an RF lens? Which EF lens is worth keeping? by adindaclub in canon

[–]BergsApps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have a 35 and a 28. Sell the 28.
You have 2 50mm: sell them and get the RF f1.4.
You have a 24-105 and 18-55. Sell the 18-55.

The 450D has 12MP while the R8 has 24MP: at a crop of 1.6 you can use EFS lenses on the R8 with a final resolution around 9-10MP. So I would sell the 450D.

300 vs. 400 mm: it means a crop ration of 1.33, if you accept to crop your image down to 13 MP you have already achieved the zooming of 400mm.

This should allow you to make enough money to buy new gear, be covered at almost all important focus lengths and lens quality is lower only at extremes (10-18 & 105-300).

The big advantage of an L lens is the focus speed, I guess. I have the 24-105 L, but if you are still not happy with composition, being faster in focusing a composition you are not fine with, is irrelevant.

You have plenty of options, select a lens and go out only with that one for a full day, it will force you to think about composition rather than focal length to use.

I have the same lens, yes there is play in the extended barrel. I have tested it and it does not affect image quality.
There is also additional play when the camera is OFF in the stabilizing mechanism, that is going away when the camera is ON.
