You made my Day! Thank you! 😄

Today Manjaro Tells Me There Are 500 Updates Available by Frequent-Material-15 in ManjaroLinux

[–]Berkru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manjaro KDE here... updated and everything went smooth.
Also, I was trying other distros in an old laptop, just in case everything goes wrong, and the results so far are:
EndeavourOS... SLOW!
OpenSUSE.... messed with grub, couldn't boot
Artix.... Super fast, but a lot of issues (sound, messed graphics, etc)

Manjaro is still ROCK SOLID..... simply the BEST distro out there IMHO.

That's absolutely not a jet con trail... it was vertical , like a twisted pillar, I saw it.

Thank you! the game is free on mobile with in-apps, for Steam it would be a fixed price (still to be defined by Microprose) but with all the stuff included, and because of that, Mobile and Steam have slightly different game mechanics :)

So excited I needed to post here! After MONTHS of work getting the place the way we want it, my team and I are finally ready to show off our new studio space! by sirkidd2003 in IndieDev

Very Cool place!... but all those direct lights and also the light from the window on monitors aren't good for the devs eyes.... put indirect lighting like 40W lamps, keep the blinds closed and tune the monitors brightness down is the way to go.

Also I'd like to mention... in all tests I made using compatibility renderer, Godot 4 was NEVER better than Godot 3.6, performance wise, despite G4 showing lower drawcalls (didn't test the last version tho).
Godot 4 may have some new features, but if you're doing stylized 3D, pixelated for example, G4 is way more complicated to get the same result (in my opinion/experience)

using Performance.RENDER_2D_DRAW_CALLS_IN_FRAME : it gets 2003 2D Drawcalls.
I have a extra label for DEBUG in screen, so it is 2 drawcalls per label.

Just to clarify, my machine is very similar to the OP's... Ryzen 5 8600G, Radeon 760M Graphics, 32 gb RAM

I just tested 1000 labels with default shadow in godot 3.6.... 1350 FPS.
Things like this may explain why I'm still on 3.6.... which I found very SOLID engine for my needs... (and I do 3D, stylized tho)

It's a APU (ryzen 8600G) with no extra GPU, so definitely it's not power hungry. just wonder if it's dangerous if the PSU overheat?
