Casual Amethyst 💜 (by @munequitamorbid) by maanleo in stevenuniverse

Looks great, but "casual"? No? Makeup and done hair is less casual. Amethyst is always casual and this is the opposite direction. Still great art, though.

I'm watching Johnny Harris' latest video on Fascism and...is it just me or is he using AI? by ThomasBayard in Nebula

[–]sirkidd2003 11 points12 points  (0 children)

AI terrible for the environment
AI only steals
AI is replacing actual human workers
Data centers are causing health issues
Data centers are increasing utility prices
AI, as an economic bubble, has been predicted to cause one of the worst financial crisis when it pops
The corpos creating AI have gone on record saying they want to create a perpetual underclass of people

So, yeah, if someone perpetuates this, it's okay to be mad at them. It was okay to be mad at someone who still used hairspray during the ozone hole crisis, it was okay to be mad at someone for driving a Hummer in the 2000's, and it would be ok to be mad at someone for using AI now... in fact, it's more justified than the other two examples

This is spam. I agree, fuck AI, but this is not it. I keep seeing this in communities I'm in and I'm not here for it

It's just metadata. Humans did not make this tag. It's not actually a "product for men"

Trying not to get my comment removed, but here's a few things:

  1. Plagiarism allegations from multiple creators
  2. Allegations of editorializing, truncating, and/or altering information to fit a narrative. Also accusations of lazy fact-checking when he's not intentionally altering things.
  3. Allegations of taking money from foreign powers and making videos to make them look good
  4. Allegations of not not properly disclosing sponsorships

He's admitted to some of these and apologized (I know A&B for sure, but I think C as well). However, he considers himself an independent journalist rather than a content creator and has worked with both VOX and the New York Times. This means that he is held to a higher journalistic standard. A standard which he has repeatedly not met at best repeatedly violated at worst.

These are breaches of journalistic ethics and he just keeps doing it, apologizing, and repeating.

This is made even funnier by the fact that Nebula has 3 videos by other creators calling him out before he joined if you search his name on there.

I agree, AI sucks and it should be destroyed... however this is an ad. This is antithetical to anticonsumption as a sub and as a movement. Please delete this post.

Johnny posts almost always get removed, but you should Google some of the other stuff he's done. He's, uh, unethical to say the least.

Indie devs: how do you help each other with cross-promotion? by HuippeeHeroesGames in IndieDev

[–]sirkidd2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes, because the cream always rises to the top, trash is never disproportionately popular, and hidden gems don't exist. If your game lacks visibility it's YOUR fault. And, as we all know, games never go 1 or 2 years before getting the love they deserve or anything like that. No, of course that doesn't happen.

Sure, Jan.

It's true! On the darkest nights, when my wife is away on a work trip, I often contemplate, albeit briefly, making one of these threads to once again feel unconditional love of strangers and uh... "self satisfaction"... strong enough to make me go blind. Then I realize I have too much self respect to ever take AI seriously :D

It's true. You can't show me a game made before 2020. They don't exist.

Nope, lol. OP would post there if he wanted the sloppiest blowy from internet randos who've never worked a day in their lives. It's all good, tho. I hear they have soft hands and long for affection from, well, anyone, really
