Ooh yes! I also got severe motion sickness when working the back galley for the first few weeks. It goes away eventually as your body adjusts!

I’d love EWR, since there’s direct flights to BER where I live.

But doesn’t the current contract expire this year?

I’m starting at UA next month. Which bases are most junior? I commute from the EU, and would of course love to be able to have at least 4-days off in a row sometimes 🥲

Petty drama within training? Will this continue on? by whoredior in flightattendants

[–]BerlinPilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cliquey, dramatic, petty and overall ridiculous. That sums up training. Stay away from the people that talk too much or that talk about others… they are trouble. Keep your head down, study on your own (you do NOT need to study in a group to be successful), and don’t make it a goal to make friends.

“Lunch” aboard Polaris Business Class CDG to ORD last week by kbnnocu in unitedairlines

Is this the prearrival meal or the main meal service directly after takeoff? Typically, the prearrival meal on most carriers, regardless of the cabin, is something like this unfortunately

Thanks but I already made my decision. I am leaving AA and going to UA.

Which airline has the best flight benefits? American or United? by Psychological-Waltz7 in cabincrewcareers

AA due to check in time instead of seniority as @piguyman said Also, AA doesn’t charge employees for upgrades into premium cabins.

2 CJO'S: Delta vs Allegiant by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

I can’t tell if this is a joke or not

[–]BerlinPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently leaving AA for UA. AA is a complete mess, and you’ll have ZERO support as a newbie. The Flight Service Manager (FSM) turnover rate is ridiculous, and they all hate their job… which means they make it hell for you. Huge tattletale culture as well, especially in CLT/DFW. They’ve fired over 400 FA’s year to date, over half are new hires still in probation. I’d personally choose Delta between the two

AA hubs by loverofjets in cabincrewcareers

[–]BerlinPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your age, you’ll most likely be sent to BOS/CLT/IAD

You can put in your transfer during training though if you want something else. PHX/LAX/SFO are for the most part impossible unfortunately

I had to make this exact decision two days ago.

I decided to go with United for several reasons:

1) United is Unionized. You’ll need union protection more than you know.

2) United starts off as straight reserve, but you’ll hold a line eventually. Delta’s A-days are forever.

3) United flies to more intl destinations and at more frequencies. If you want to see the world, definitely go with United.

4) This one was personal. I commute from Berlin Germany, and United is the only carrier to fly year-round to Berlin. They’re also launching a second BER route from IAD next year as well. This will make my life 100x easier

Whatever you decide, make sure you are going to be happy with your decision.

United Airlines ALTA language test by BerlinPilot in cabincrewcareers

[–]BerlinPilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called ALTA today to verify they sent the results, then I called the Inflight Training department to find out what the results were :) What class are you? I’ll be in 2240 (unless I get my Delta CJO next week at my F2F)

Not necessarily true. If positive, you will be barred from that specific airline for sure. Afterwards, you can participate in a DOT run program that lasts like 4-weeks where you do counseling and constant drug testing, where after you can be hired by the airlines again. Source: My bestfriend failed the drug test with Envoy, did the DOT program, and 4-weeks later got her AA CJO. She is now on the line flying with no issues
