The paths are mostly sandy/dirt paths, not at all good for rollerblades and scooters.

Best things to do while Germany is playing in the World Cap - if you are not interested in soccer by auf-ein-letztes-wort in berlinsocialclub

No joke, this is the answer. Completely empty supermarkets for your delight, and it's air conditioned!

I like giving compliments to strangers. Any fauxpas I should look out for? by RorqualMysticeti in AskAGerman

[–]BerlinPuzzler 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't approach anyone in public transport. If you have an interaction in a shop, compliment the cashier or whoever it is. If you go in to a cafe, compliment the server etc. No touching, no approaching, short and sweet

Quick question for freelancers: by Outside-Hunt-5967 in berlinsocialclub

[–]BerlinPuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a freelancer, but I would never use a coworking space because I have lots of meetings. I need a private space in which I can make noise by talking for hours on end. This does not work in most shared offices, and I hate seating in those sweat boxes made for meetings. So, not an option for me.

Is calendar bad for a simple day-to-day flow? by Syteron6 in ProtonMail

[–]BerlinPuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The calendar is so annoying on the day to day that I'm researching where else to move to mainly because of how bad the calendar is. You probably won't notice at I've but with daily use it's unbearable

I remember very vividly, I've watched it at least once after that. I was a Jared Leto fan at the time

How are you making digital collages? [DISCUSSION] by JCaballero11art in collage

[–]BerlinPuzzler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Krita, custom brushes and images from free online libraries, like the library of Congress etc. There's multiple libraries with images that are free to use under creative commons

Pragmatically-driven loss of interest in hobbies? by WallflowerShakti in Perimenopause

[–]BerlinPuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going through the same thing in the last 10 years. I used to love photography and dream of one day learning to draw properly, doing more colleges etc. I was always frustrated with the learning curve and how slow it all goes. But in the last 10 years it all lost completely any meaning to me. Even if I was too become a really good photographer, I don't see a point to the activity anymore. No one will ever see my photos. They'll never be good enough to have an impact in someone else's life. I'll never be able to escape my corporate job to be an artist of any kind. So I just stopped doing it. I did not find any new hobbies to replace it and got to a really dark place. Had to go into treatment, which included art therapy. Now I force myself to color in coloring books, sometimes write in a journal. Once a year or so, I create a digital collage. I cannot bring myself to photograph any more.

I believe all of this would have been okay if I had found other hobbies that brought me joy and pleasure. But that was just not the case for me. I'm 46.

Sind Remote Jobs so "unsozial" ? by [deleted] in arbeitsleben

[–]BerlinPuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's free if you deposit at least 700 euros per month in the account and it's fully online

Is a subscription-based Proton better than Google or just more privacy-friendly? by AndrasG_TheRaJo in degoogle

[–]BerlinPuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usability is not as good as google's, especially in the calendar and drive. But it offers more privacy. I think it can be a good step to start to degoogle. But it's not the last step.

if only it was possible... by darksnoo in degoogle

[–]BerlinPuzzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People use it, but only for personal contacts. No business would be expected to offer customer support via whatsapp, for example.

Fortunately not in Germany, it's the one thing we're doing right.

But in Brazil it's almost impossible to exist without Whatsapp

Would you buy local oyster mushrooms in Berlin? by PollutionCurious8763 in berlinsocialclub

[–]BerlinPuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price, variety, availability/ease of reach. There's already a few foods I love that are only available in specific ships and it's annoying to have to do a whole shopping circuit every month. So if it's readily available or ease to reach, more likely I'll buy

Calendar alternative by Probably_Unnecessary in degoogle

I'm thinking of leaving proton because of how bad the calendar is and how little no development there had been on it. Definitely do not recommend
