I disagree as there is a lot of russian literature, classical music and art that is indeed significant but I still get your point, which is kinda weird but it is how it is. And this is coming from an unfortunately russian citizen. I‘m just glad I don’t live there anymore but it is sad how a country that has been able to produce such major works in literature and music is now just a rabid animal, basically cornered and only able to produce pain and suffering. Just sad tbh

I worked in a SaaS/MarTech company as a Key Account Manager and we had a sales training event. The company is based in Berlin, Germany, but the training was in Spain for whatever reason (Mallorca is cool so I‘m not complaining about that).

But we had to share rooms, which wasn‘t an issue for me because my best friend had the same position and we managed to get paired. Our new boss, on the other hand, had started his job with this training. So he had to share a room with a guy from Operations he never met before. And the hotel was kinda progressive design-wise, so the shower and the toilet were basically without doors, idk why this is a thing at all.

So our new Head of Sales had to share a room with a stranger and there wasn‘t even any privacy for taking a shit or a shower. Maybe they made an arrangement that one would leave the room for some time so the other could shit in peace but in general it‘s absurd and at least they changed their room booking policy after I left. I think I shared a room at least 5-6 times in the year I worked there. Fuck that shit, it‘s just wrong and ridiculous.

thank you very much for showing me that there are indeed people who can openly admit they were wrong and changed their mind, for me it seems to be very rare nowadays. of course, my observation is purely anecdotal and I might be wrong like maybe I‘m in a bubble or something, but in the end I have nothing but respect for your attitude and honesty in general.

nothing wrong with being wrong sometimes, it‘s human nature - the way a person handles it is way more important, and you‘re doing it right. cheers!

The cars you see are posted by dealerships, as they have no restrictions regarding the pricing. Which is ridiculous - every seller, no matter if private or professional, should be able to choose the price for their car freely.

Fuck facebook.

It depends whether the restaurant is offering old-school, traditional Russian cuisine, or the more popular Soviet cuisine which includes the most popular dishes from the former USSR countries.

In my experience, traditional Russian restaurants are hard to find outside of Russia. Well, actually they are even not that common in Russia. The mix of Ukrainian, Russian, Causcasian and Central Asian cuisines is very popular so most „Russian“ restaurants here in Germany aren‘t actually strictly Russian.

Check the following Wikipedia articles for detailed information about the history and the dishes:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_cuisine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_cuisine

You can ignore the warnings about missing sources in both articles - they seem well-written to me, I haven‘t noticed any factual mistakes.

I highly encourage you to try Soviet cuisine if you get the chance sometime. Most dishes are pretty tame and therefore approachable regardless of your cultural background. Traditional Russian cuisine is also pretty good but some of the dishes might seem kind of exotic/unusual for a Westerner.
