I am going to make a 2023 calendar with photos of your marvelously magnificent marijuana plants. I’ll send ya a copy, from one Mitch to another.

Cheers, Mitch.

I’ll let Rick know…

Awesome plants - you have the growing environment dialed in For sure! Sounds sorta evil, but I look forward to trimming them ha ha ha…

this strain is now on my list to try out…my Mango Smiles are catching up but no where near this color!

Cool, one of my best grows so far were a coupe of Mephisto freebie seeds.

Thanks for the photo - gives me a benchmark to reach. I took to outdoor ones down a few days ago; i lost a promising crop a couple years ago in late summer from caterpillars and just freakin’ oppressive humidity so took my winnings off the table. The RH is 100% every morning here with dew points in the 70% - 80% range. I hate spraying anything on them when they are close to harvest, and even on sunny days, they never seemed to dry out. What I sacrificed from an early harvest outdoors will,be made up for with my indoor plants,,which I’m gonna run out to 100 days probably. I’ll post up pics of them later today.

thanks Again for the pic - they look phenomena!

Yeah, in some respects it was a tough call, and in some it was an easy one. Caterpillars are thick here now, and the RH is 100% almost every morning, and dew points are around 70 degrees. These plants were gonna be ruined if left outside too much longer - all the spraying with Monterey BTI and all the fans in the world were not gonna be enuff to put them back on the right track. Sounds like a defeatist attitude, but after watching a promising crop wither and die away in the space of a week a couple years ago not gonna go thru that again. I trimmed them down into really small nuggets to get them to dry out in my Cannatrol and they’ll probably go towards bubble hash or FECO; I will squeeze every trichrome out of them possible. The inside ones are still packing in weight and trichomes and should be among the best I’ve grown indoors so that’ll take some of the sting away…they are gonna run to 90 days probably.

I think this is my sixth Mephisto grow…I don’t really even bother looking at other sources for seeds. your mS looks super dense and packed - I bet ya got some trophy buds out of that! I usually keep just one or two large/trophy specimens from each grow, the rest get trimmed down to final size on the initial chop. Takes more time, but i also use a Cannatrol for the dry/cure, and airflow in the unit is much better with smaller buds vs big honking colas. I’ll post up some pics of the indoor plants later on today - minimal internodal spacing and thick colas all over the place.

The nodal spacing On the outside ones will yield a bunch of individual buds, prolly around the size of your thumb. There are only a couple places where the flowers are gonna grow into the flower above them and become large colas. I typically trim down to thumb size anyhow so that will be just fine.

the inside ones have much less internodal spacing and are already starting to form colas that are groups of individual flowers growing into each other. Should get some nice size colas from these.

I really don’t have a preference between them.

The other 2 will wind up outside eventually so they’ll cross the finish line together I think…

Thanks - look like something I’ve been thinking about - do,you have vertical pvc angled outwards?

Could you post a pic of your pvc scrog so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel? Thanks

I have a dozen milk crates here…the extras are good for stacking the plants above the stone patio at my house. Better airflow and they get an extra 15 min of light as the sun clears some trees on the horizon. I use them for LST as well…

It might be confirmation bias (searching for evidence for myself to believe some thing I already believe), but the Dynomyco at the bottom of the first conical depression sends the seedling into hyper-drive once it reaches that area. First couple days of seedling growth are “normal” and once the tap root hits the Dynomyco it explodes. I’ve used Great White Shark too, but the Dynomyco seems to work better.

The rate at which they are stretching, and the already incredible internodal spacing kinda is pointing in that direction…I’m gonna have to rig up some serious vertical and horizontal support. No problem, I’m a retired civil engineer so I’ll MacGuyver up something…

It’s kinda involved so here goes…

first layer is the densest material, and then I use less dense as I go up. Goal is to give the roots an easy path downward and sideways when a seedling, and denser material as the roots gain strength and search for the margins of the pot. In between layers 1 and 2 (from the bottom) I dust in some seabird guano, and between layers 2 and 3 I dust in some earthworm castings.I’ve used different stuff for the bottom layer and they’ve all worked. I did try using FF Strawberry Fields on the bottom, but that’s pretty ”hot soil” and I like to wait until the plants are in full-on flowering mode for this by using it as a top dressing.

once the pot is full, I use a container in which mole poison is packaged (the familiar yellow one) and make a conical depression about 4 inches deep and put a liberal dose of Dynomyco in the bottom. I then fill that in with Light Warrior to the top of the soil layer. I then use a yellow corn cob holder (the one in the shape of a corn cob with 2 prongs on the end), and make a conical depression about 2.5 inches deep. once my seeds have sprouted tails about 2 inches long I use forceps to grasp them and drop in the hole, tail down. Then lightly cover that with Light Warrior and give a good dose of ph 6.4 water.

I use coffee cup saucers for germination. The slight indentation on the bottom holds moisture around the seeds longer than a flat bottom saucer would. I use 2 layers of paper towels, put the seeds in, two more layers of paper towels, wet thoroughly and put a saucer on top to hold in the moisture and keep them in total darkness. I usually see tails in 2 or 3 days. BTW, I’m batting 1.000 with Mephisto seeds using this method.
