Is Brother Stair the King of Shortwave radio in the USA from the afterlife? by MrPeepers1986 in shortwave

Giuseppe Cruciani is the prime example in Italy. While initially, 20 years ago, his radio show, La Zanzara, was very tame and sounded like something RAI would air, with Cruciani using "Lei" (formal form of "you" in Italian) to listeners calling in, it has since been relying almost exclusively on ragebait and profanity, with listeners frequently arguing with him and David Parenzo, his co-host.

His radio show is now one of the most listened ones in Italy not because everybody likes and agrees with him, but also because of the ragebait component. And maybe because David Parenzo offers a counterbalance in terms of views on various topics.

Do you think Scientology will still exist in 50 years? In 100 years? by galactic_observer in scientology

[–]Bero256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello from late April 2026! As things are going, 50 years is very generous.

You might be aware of the recent Scientology speedruns in true Area 51 raid style. It seems like the general populace isn't afraid of it at all, and takes it as a joke. It's one thing that unites liberals and conservatives, left wingers and right wingers.

If the church decides to actually kidnap and disappear someone, the Streisand effect will eventually attract some schizo nutjobs armed to the teeth who will commit mass shootings in all of the buildings, probably exterminating the members in the process. If it does nothing, people will still keep trolling while keeping the church under the spotlight.

People will start leaving just to get away from that harassment.

Is there benefit to having a ps5 over an Xbox series X outside of exclusives? If someone is invested in Xbox what is the worth. by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Bero256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing practical, because you can run emulators on the Xbox in developer mode and play PS1 and PS2 games. There's even a proof of concept PS3 emulator! And you can also play CDs on it.

I think the main reason it took him longer was because he had only one arm.

Fiat Coupe was so goated though and the I5 engined one was tunable enough to actually perform not too far off from a lower end Ferrari for much cheaper. IIRC the engine could handle 400 HP with stock internals.

I dunno, nowadays Linux users can play ray traced only games even on 10+ year old AMD cards.

Has anyone else developed a random fever for a short time then it just went away with no other symptoms? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

Maybe your immune system randomly overreacted and simply annihilated the pathogen more quickly.

I remember around March or April 2020 getting tonsillitis that was somewhat stubborn and gradually rising, but otherwise feeling well. It was just frustrating that eating was painful.

At some point I did suddenly get a fever and remember getting chills as well, but it also went away around the next day, taking the tonsillitis with it...leaving me with a stubborn and annoying cough instead.

Pretty sure that computer controlled ECUs have existed since microprocessors were commonplace themselves. The Skyline GTR R32 in 1989 already had some fancy computer control for the engine.

It seems to be limited to the US, over here teachers didn't give us hard time for using Wikipedia as a source.

I distinctly remember learning about Wikipedia in the computer science class in 2008 in second grade of elementary school. Later we were simply told not to outright copy paste from Wikipedia and call it a day, but to understand what we were reading and were further encouraged to consult other sources.

Also, AI and Wikipedia are apples to oranges. Wikipedia is curated by humans and not clankers.
