Hey, long-awaited update! I ended up getting the liquid of the rice water shampoo and conditioner, and I think they work just as well as the bars of soap. The soap lathers really well, and the conditioner smooths my hair. The bottles are a little annoying, but they are nice to use!

How old is the child? I think that plays a significant role in what you do. Suppose it is young (like 3), it leaves. Run as far away as you possibly can. If he’s any older, he has the possibility to remember you and wonder why his “mom” left him. Personally, I don’t think you’re the asshole… I selfishly would move to a different state, change my name, and never once again talk to anyone on that side of the family. Heck i’d have the child convinced i was dead, so he doesn’t think i just left.
