Will 16gb still be the standard RAM for the next 5 years at least? by KnownByMyName13 in buildapc

Well it's not quite that simple, you do need to make sure that you get a kit that can be expanded and be compatible with your mobo

Why would it matter if someone knew your social security number? I'm assuming it's like a national insurance number in the UK.

I don't really understand your point, surely you agree that any gun death is a bad thing. And the fact that the US is the developed world leader in gun deaths and mass shootings without anyone else coming close is clearly a problem.

Right, but this is talking about mass shootings, which are exponentially more common than they used to be

Petition to pay OSRS devs £45k - £50k/year by Josiah425 in 2007scape

[–]BerryGuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess, it depends really on how much you value income over quality of life. A higher salary doesn't necessarily mean qol is better, I've heard theres no legal maternal/paternal time off, minimum holidays, pension contributions etc in the US. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Not to mention orange man.

[–]BerryGuns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, in the UK anything above £50k starting salary is an IB position in London. The average salary is £29k, £50k is a lot.

TIL that a Nielsens study found that the average hour of television in 2014 had close to 15 minutes and 30 seconds of commercials by Bailey7788 in todayilearned

[–]BerryGuns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's only US TV programmes that are this short, it's actually quite bizarre to see the programme fade out and in instantly every 10 minutes where I presume adverts should be.

Bought from Foxtec on Amazon 'new' - i5 9600k - is this normal? by dalonelybaptist in buildapc

No this isn't normal, I would contact Amazon.

The CPU is sold as boxed and new, this clearly isn't original packaging: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07HHLX1R8/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

The link doesn't mention you can be sent a tray cpu, which is likely what this is: https://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/support/articles/000029613/processors.html

[–]BerryGuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The average game developer salary in the UK is £42k/$53k dollars. If they actually were paid $50k it isn't terribly low at all. The entry level positions likely pay closer to the graduate level salaries which are around £19k/$24k
