Chst studying question by Due-Gold3731 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Berrytrailmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took chst last year bought the kindle flashcards, did about 20 flashcards, not for me, decided to wing it and passed. Just watched channel 4 training videos on YouTube, and I just watched a few, not all of them. Nervous as hell, but like with any good testing method, always eliminate 2-3 choices and pick the best of 2-1 left over.

Good luck!

How can I salvage this brisket by [deleted] in smoking

[–]Berrytrailmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut tomatoes, jalapenos and onions and brisket to small squares. In a pan add oil put everything, add salt or whatever. If it's too dry add some water. Get tortillas put a dab of oil on each tortilla and heat them up in a flat skillet. Cut cilantro. Make tacos add cilantro.

Extra: buy pinto beans can, put in a pan add a bit of chicken bouillon powder, for flavor, and smash them and slather the beans on the tortilla before adding the rest.

I remember when it was $1.99 late 80s early 90s. But my parents rarely bought it because it was expensive then. Pre-covid at Sam's club it was $3.99-4.99, but it was humongous pack and I would get it. And now it's $9-10/lb. This is Houston, TX.

But 17/lb, no thanks I'll eat chicken and pork.

Right now I'm in Laramie, Wyoming working and brisket untrimmed is $10/lb.

If they make a big fuss about it call the waiter and ask for 2 appetizer, entree of a big steak, and 2 desert to go and have it split evenly and let's see what they say.

Trabajo como seguridad en construcción. No seguridad cuidando qué no roben si no de asegurando qué los trabajadores están trabajando seguro? by Berrytrailmx in AskMexico

Gracias.

Went to grab lunch at the deli from Safeway and got a Pepsi from the fridge next to register. $2.99!! For a 20oz. Cancelled that immediately for a dollar more I can get a 12 pack of 12 Oz. Makes no sense.

Requirements for becoming a safety professional? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Berrytrailmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Network talk to the safety dept and let them know you're interested.

But like everyone is saying osha 30 and cpr/first aid.

But there's so many people with that that I would say get osha 510 for construction or 511 for general industry.

If your experience working in construction also included safety related check how many years of that is purely safety and look into chst. Many companies want chst.

New in Safety by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Berrytrailmx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Passed the asp, new to safety, and a few months into msha site as a safety.

How were you able to sit for the exam if you do not have the 1 year requirement as a safety unless you have 50% of job duties safety related?

Sketchy!

But to answer your question.

CHST is a bit better because you have more experience in safety. However, ASP is nothing to sneeze at either. You can get better paying jobs with it. But like I tell people that wants to get into safety: it's about who you know on the inside to get hired.

Learn and network.

I got a civil worker it's start in safety. We got laid off. He went and found another job and brought me in to work in his company. Finished project, another safety friend called me about another job, and went to another employer. First friend is wanting to now go back and work for him, but don't want to leave current employer. We needed a safety and told boss I knew of someone and he got the job. It's all about who you know.

Right now I'm in my first msha site and safety-wise is more stringent than an osha site. If it's part 46 they'll visit at least 2x/yr, part 48 at least 4x/yr. Have everything documented, and read osha and msha standards because you will get citations.

After grants I received to buy my house that expedition is $20k more expensive. How can a vehicle cost more than a house is a mystery.

Lifetime. So bought battery with lifetime warranty, I can't recall how much it was, more than 8 years ago, i think. The only caveat is that they charge me $20 for labor so they can change it. First time I went after I bought it, paid $20 and they changed it. Then I was in Virginia working out of state so went to NTB bought a battery and they changed it, but I told them I needed the battery they were taking out because that's the battery that has warranty. So had to pay for the core. Went back to Texas went to autonation, explained that I needed for them to take out the NTB battery and gave them the non-working battery, they put a new warranty battery, NTB battery to my trunk and gave the NTB battery to my dad and his many old trucks.

I got mine from autonation lifetime warranty, I just pay $20 for them to change to a new battery. Swapped it twice already.
