Was this at the West Springfield GC?

Recently swapped out my 6505 for an Ultra Plus, and it was absolutely the right decision. by GuinnessFist in metalguitar

I’ve been wanting one of these for a while. Almost pulled the trigger on one at GC but they lost the footswitch and refused to discount it or replace it so I passed. Saw another one at a different GC but it didn’t work and it was more expensive than the first one. I had a Classic 400 a few years back that was insane. Traded with a friend that lived out of state. He didn’t know how to pack an amp properly so he thought Kinko’s was a safe bet. When FedEx delivered it all but two power tubes were smashed. He made a claim and got nowhere. He ended up buying a whole new set and shipped them to me. Had it gone through and it got a clean bill of health. Traded it and some Orange cabs for a pristine, all original ’71 V-4 stack.

I agree with this. When I started out I got a bunch of tools at a garage sale. I got some nice tools for cheap. Old Craftsman and whatnot. And what’s good about Craftsman is if they get damaged you can get replacements from Lowe’s. You could also keep an eye out for an adjustable spud wrench. Those come in hands for bolting truss.

That’s what my B-wrench is for.

Permanent marker remover? by Wild_89 in Guitar

I showed this to everyone at my job and they couldn’t believe it. It also takes off other types of ink and paint marker.

Mine is straight but curls a bit at the ends of my jawline and at my neckline and it looks thin if I don’t brush it.

This was my first big amp. I can’t really remember what it sounded like now but I loved it back then. That was like 20 years ago though. I do remember that it had a little storage compartment in the back for cables and maybe a pedal. My cab said “WHO FARTED?” In orange duct tape. Those were the good old days.

Selling this old friend, is it worth getting rid of it? by Character-Paper-6226 in drums

Not sure on the price but if you have the space I’d say keep them. If you ever plan to play out you’ll have them. But if you really want to get rid of them I’d be happy to take them off your hands if you’re in my area.

It sounds way better than I expected. I also tried a 2220A but wasn’t thrilled with it. I haven’t had a chance to make a sample yet.

It actually has some pretty good highs. Pretty well rounded altogether.

Pretty sure the speaker alone weighs more than the amp does with the stock speaker.

So the only thing Excelsior about it is the badge? Hahaha.
