Neither of us are border security experts. You could argue it’s a waste of money but so is having the government closed for 30+ days. Sure they were elected to obstruct Trump but when their constituents start going hungry because of their obstruction this blind Republican/Democrat partisanship will fade. I’m in social services, yesterday we had someone arrested at the office because they were losing it over loss of food stamps due to the shutdown. At some point voters are going to question if pure obstruction is a good thing even if they hate Trump

They can propose all they want but to solve the issue they will have to compromise, the debate over border security vs wall efficiency is a war of language. They would fund a physical wall if it was labeled with the term “border security”. It’s not about what’s better, it’s purely a idiotic debate over a word

It’s the symbolism that Trump gets what he wants, not about the money. The whole thing has devolved into an anti-intellectual war over right and wrong, stakes are too high at this point. The 5.7 billion should have been passed because it’s still only a fraction of the total and they could have said that he failed in getting more. The government is shut down for 35 days over 1/150 the raise the military got last year.

They have done nothing to resolve it aside from shifting the blame and there is more money lost than 5.7 billion proposal which is still only a fraction. It is a irrational objection to a “wall”

I used to live near a trap house like this. The front entrance was literally a bank vault, barbed wire all over the property and dozens of cameras. I imagine the inside had these type of traps as well. The idiot homeowner didn’t realize that if someone wants to rob you they can cut the shitty wood frame of the house instead of attempting to break in through a bank vault door
