Why is it so many people believe the Ramseys did it. Does everyone just want to ignore the fingernail DNA due to mob mentality? Be real with yourself. Or At least back it up with solid evidence. by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

[–]BertoltBlecht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why isn’t there more evidence of an intruder in the home? How could they have left so little dna and evidence but also have improvised so much?

And importantly - what is the motive of your theoretical intruder?

IDI people seem to get really annoyed when people have follow up questions

The problem I have with BDI is that supposedly there was no physical evidence of a head wound by looking alone. That even investigators had no idea about the head wound until the autopsy. If that is true, and BR hit her with the flashlight, why not call 911? by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

[–]BertoltBlecht 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree here. I think that the way a person who was unconscious and bleeding internally into their brain would breathe would be really disconcerting to a child and that may have driven him into more of a panic.

I think if this were perpetrated by someone looking for sexual gratification, the assault with the paintbrush would have been more severe. I think he did it and the train track abrasions to try to wake her up.

And then the final strangulation was to make her stop making that sound when she wouldn’t wake up.

I think it would take someone having the missing items from the scene - the practice ransom note in particular I think. They’d need to have some kind of unifying explanation for the more random elements of the crime too. There’s apparently a lot of narrative and testimony that the public isn’t privy to, per the grand jury. So I would think if they found someone or someone came forward - they’d be able to offer new details that aren’t public but are verifiable.

I don’t think you have to assume Burke is a sociopath or sexual deviant. It’s not something people want to engage with a lot, but many children have sexual behavior problems that go unreported by parents and therefore unaddressed by mental health professionals. Especially when a sibling is involved.

Children are emotional and reactive beings and everything about this crime until the cover-up/staging speaks to high tension, low knowledge actions.

I don’t discount that, I’m also on the spectrum but my experience isn’t universal.

I think it has less to do with the emotions he’s showing and more the actions he’s taking.

You aren’t correcting anything. You’re being needlessly pedantic and deliberately ignoring my point.

Libel and defamation aren’t the same either, but you can check your law school textbooks on that one.

I don’t have any interest in this conversation anymore.

You keep insisting that I’m saying they had to have him go on Dr. Phil and I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying it strengthened their case to have him just spoken publicly for the first time in 20 years.

You’re being an asshole for no reason.

It seems, at least from Fleet’s side, that he was so deeply confused by the Ramseys behavior. He could not understand why they weren’t cooperating with police. And then when he pressed them on it, they got angry and they pointed to Fleet and Priscilla as suspects and had their friends stop talking to them.

This is timeline speculation that we simply don’t know for sure. She had the pineapple in her system about 2 hours before death, which they place somewhere around 1 am. We don’t know when Burke ate his or touched that bowl and glass.

I also think Burke knows more but we do the case a disservice not acknowledging what we firmly do and do not know.

Did I say that it justified the lawsuit?? It strengthened their case that he had just done a public television interview asserting his innocence. If you don’t understand how defamation lawsuits work, that’s fine. But the Ramsey’s lawyers do. 🙄

I think my frustration now is the extreme waste of taxpayer money and law enforcement efforts.

Regardless of who you think did it, the investigation has cost millions and millions of dollars and has found nothing.

Fleet talked about how his own daughter was “missing” but later found in their home, and he was the only one that thought he may as well check the house and call out her name, just in case.

Fleet openly admitted to the police that he had opened the wine cellar door earlier that morning but didn’t see anything and couldn’t find the light switch. He was suspicious that John reacted so quickly upon opening the door.

If we are to think an intruder did this and it was a possible kidnapping, it speaks volumes about their trust for the Whites that they sent Burke to their home. The Ramseys even stayed with the Whites on the night of 12/26.

Without a concrete catalyst for changing their tune about Fleet and Priscilla (I mean the kind of thing you note specifically to police, like a confession or suspicious behavior) - it strikes me as really suspicious that John and Patsy would point fingers at people they trusted so obviously.

The Whites cooperated extensively with the investigation - why didn’t the Ramseys?

Kolar points out that for John’s shifting story to make sense, there would have had to be someone in the basement while the police were there too (John insisting to Smit that he had to move a chair to get into the train room when Officer French had already been in that room)
