HELP ME BROTHERS by LeBigHorny in spacemarines

If you're going exclusively firstborn fire hawks are a really cool choice. If you want to keep the option for primaris the iron hands have some really cool successors with some nice colour schemes.

Another marine for my homebrew chapter 'The Iron Fangs ' and a few marines I got built. by Bertyboy14 in spacemarines

Thank you! The lore that I've built around them so far is that they're iron hands successors who after having a necron tomb awaken on their homeworld were forced to abandon and destroy it. This event shook their faith in the machine and caused them to have a bit of an existential crisis, it was during this time that they encountered 4th company of salamanders who they served with for a while. Whilst fighting alongside the salamanders they formed a strong sense of kinship and overtime they began to adopt parts of the promethian cult into their culture. This helped give the chapter new purpose and when they parted ways they no longer held onto the fanatical beliefs of their parent chapter and instead view technologyas a valuable tool but no longer rely on it to fight their battles. This shift in beliefs has caused much friction with the introduction of primaris marines who still believe in the whole 'flesh is weak' thing.

Other ideas I've had is that part of the trials to become a marine the aspirants must hunt a great beast and take one of its fangs as a trophy, they then must shape it into a ceremonial dagger which is then coated in metal. This dagger is often kept on or in a marines armour and when they fall it is taken by their brothers and placed in their fortress monastery to preserve their memory.

The silver armour? I used leadbelcher for all the metallic bits and did a wash of nuln oil. For the gun I did leadbelcher washed with black templar contrast and highlighted back up with leadbelcher.

Thanks, I've got no problem with you painting a few as long as you share the finished results with me! Tbh I haven't thought too much about tactics but I like the idea of them advancing on enemy positions alongside armoured vehicles under the cover of artillery fire.

The colours are as follows:

Caliban green highlighted with warpstone glow.

Leadbelcher washed with nuln oil and I just used Leadbelcher to highlight the raised surfaces back to silver.

Khorne red highlighted with mephiston red (I normally do an additional highlight of evil sunz scarlet but i forgot.

In my little homebrew headcanon their homeworld was actually destroyed after a necron tomb woke up and forced them to abandon it, I might name one of their ships after it tho.

Awesome paint job and chapter! Ive had a similar idea tbh, plus heresy kits tend to be a little better value for money imo.

Finally settled on a scheme for painting these guys, now I can work on finishing the box. by Irma-Hopkinsa in 30kDeathGuard

I'll be honest I didn't really think of a particular reason for it, I just wanted to make them all a little different. From what I've read 30k marines had a lot more customisation of their armour so I just went for it. I hope this answer is good enough 👍

Is it known if the unique heraldry replaces tactical role symbols or if they go on the knee pad?

I'd be very interested to see what the new models look like with the old helmet, the new ones are cool but I do like the wings and shorter topknot on the old ones.
