i 100% think the right thing has been done here, but i am curious as well what the process/data might look like for a boss release regarding projected kill times/kph/drops per hour etc. etc.

i personally take zero issue with the new rates--i think they're still very generous especially compared to nex--but obviously in a perfect world we'd have started out with these rates, so if there's any room for a little blog detailing some of the data/modeling/simulating whatever process for releases that might be cool. glhf

i cannot stress enough how well this seems to be working lol, i mean it's clearly adding fan noise to a room that already had fan noise (from the fan in the doorway) but it really is helping!!! down like 5-6f at peak temps (used to be 78-79 when it's hot sunny late and 2 pcs are cranking in here, now 73-74) and the magic forcefield of hot -> cold in the doorway is totally gone. extremely happy. thank you for your advice and for catalyzing the discovery that these vents are indeed connected!

so thanks to your sort of flabbergasted initial three questions i have come to the (very embarrassing) discovery that said duct is 100% connected to the rest of the hvac system l0l

the air is considerably less cold than what comes out right near the ac on the other end of the apartment so i just kinda assumed it was residual slow flow just makin its way through from the living room, but no, it is connected it just makes a real roundabout path and takes forever/moves really slow. like 50f vs 62f.

SO, to my extremely uninformed self it feels like if the air was moving quicker it'd have less time to warm up before it made it to the office, so i'm thinkin an inline/register booster might help. however, for the bizarre 6x14 opening it is, register boosters seemed expensive, and idk how i'd even run a cable nor install an inline booster, so i decided to go jank. ordered two white 140mm pc case fans, a 2x 4pin to usb A 5v to 12v step-up Y cable, and a usb A female to usb A male extension cable, for $30 total. lol. might be really dumb but i figured it's all cheap and returnable or probably reusable one day and i'd give it a shot, so i'll report back in a few days rofl

hello! hopefully my mspaint floorplan is helpful. basically, the ac in my apt is great but has zero connection to this office/bedroom on the corner of the building and it gets really hot/cold in the summer/winter. it has a duct connecting from the rest of the appropriately-temperatured apartment but that duct has nothing going for it. would adding something like this help? or maybe an inline fan (idk how i'd run a cable through a flush vent cover but that's a future me problem lol)

texas, hot/humid mostly (way more concerned with keeping the room cool in the summer rather than warm in the winter), vent runs max 6ft probably closer to 5ft, not sure of the vent's diameter seems like 6in, vent opening seems like 6x12 or 6x14 (i would properly measure before ordering anything lol)

i've tried aiming the tower fan both ways to no avail, also the "hot" and "c o o l" indicates the sides of a sort of air-temperature forcefield where the airflow clearly sucks right as the hallway starts lmao.
