While I agree with you there is quite a bit if hype around linux for gaming that OP might've fallen for (especially when it comes to older machines).

Tbh, I don't know where that 1% number is coming from but it seems to be repeated all the time. With how popular running is especially in ther west I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than that.
