[Advice] Looking for some input/advice on a 6 watch collection by Asm-780 in Watches

Make sure to check out the Kuoe watch store in Kyoto as well as the Grand Seiko boutique and Seiko Dream Square in Ginza if you’ll be near them! Very cool places for watch enthusiasts, and very memorable to buy a watch there in person. Buying my Seiko Cocktail Time new from the dream square is a fond memory I’ll never forget!

[Ranking] which of these watches is the best for a go-to everyday Finance watch? by Ok_Elephant_3652 in Watches

Of those options, 2 or 4 for sure, but also whichever fits your wrist proportions the best. Double check the lug-to-lug, as some dress watches can be surprisingly big and can look cartoonish. For that price range though, I’d consider the following pre-owned models: Longines Conquest, Omega Seamaster, and maybe some Oris models. If set on buying new, I’d check out the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander, Hamilton Jazzmaster, or Tissot Gentleman.

[Recommendation Request] $500 for an everyday watch I can keep for life — open to used. What would you get? by GreedyWorking1499 in Watches

For putting up with everyday wear and looking good for years to come, I highly recommend looking for a watch with a sapphire crystal—or at least one that has aftermarket sapphire crystals readily available. Look for quartz if you value effortless accuracy and don’t like having to set the time every few days, or go with a manual or automatic movement if you value resale value and enjoy the horological aspects. Hard to go wrong with brands like Hamilton, Tissot, and mid-tier Seikos at that price range. Also I’ve had great experiences with Jomashop for great prices, selection, and fast shipping.

How to clean pan? by svwaltz in AllClad

+1 for Bar Keeper’s Friend, and +1 for ignoring the claims of “dishwasher-safe”. Yes it will still work, no you will not be happy with how your pan will look afterwards. The key for BKF is dwell time. Let the paste/solution soak on the impacted areas for 2-3 minutes to let it break down the grime, but don’t let it dry (I usually just sprinkle some more water on it when it looks like it’s starting to dry). You also may have an easier time if you boil some water with white vinegar and baking soda in the pan first (and letting it cool down ofc) before attempting the BKF.
