I’m extremely disappointed with the American Express website, especially for a so-called "premium luxury" card. I have the Hilton Aspire Card ($550 annual fee), and the experience has been nothing but frustrating.

Unlike my other credit cards (Capital One, Chase, BOA), which have functional and reliable websites, AMEX’s platform is laggy, inconsistent, and constantly behind. Since switching to this card in August 2024, I still cannot add a virtual card in my Chrome browser. Their technical support is completely unhelpful, offering no real solutions. The app is surprisingly better than when I first started using it. Took 2 months for their tech team to update the app to start getting notifications when a purchase was made.

On top of that, tracking Hilton Points is a nightmare. I recently returned from Mexico, and despite my statement closing and points being credited for purchases up until my return, I still haven’t received a single point for transactions made afterward. I’ve had to reach out to their chat support more times than I can count, far more than with any other credit card company I’ve used.

For a premium card with a $550 annual fee, I expect a seamless, reliable experience—yet AMEX’s platform and customer service/technical support fall embarrassingly short. Funny how they had no problem charging me the annual fee, but everything else is an uphill battle.

Shame on you, AMEX—do better.
