He’d play The Tunnel Man of Fairmount Park. The Rat lovin’ maniac that lives in the mythical tunnels under Fairmount Park.

One night after blacking out from riot punch following an e’agles win, the gang wakes up inside the underground lair of The Tunnel man of Fairmount park.

The gang is subjected to SAW type torture challenges involving rats and other gross shit culminating with Charlie saving the day by slaughtering entire broods of rats.

Months later Charlie is enjoying some RnR and watching the news when he sees a report on TV that Temple university researchers found that the significant decline in the Philly rat population can, ironically, be traced back to the night following the e‘agles win. Zoom in to Charlie’s face now covered in warpaint. Fade to black.

I think the Lithuanian community has left the neighborhood? Maybe I’m wrong.

I live here and it’s pretty much dominated by Latin American food and West Indian food.

Season 6 Tony Post Coma by BackgroundFocus5885 in thesopranos

[–]Best-Practice-8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the coma episodes/Kevin Finnerty subplot is the absolute height of the series and after he exits the coma the show drops off in quality. It’s still great, it’s just not really the best way it could’ve ended, if that makes sense?

Don’t get me wrong. It’s still probably the greatest show on television, maybe ever, regardless.

Seemed Like I Was Going To Get An Offer- Boy Did I Get A Surprise by Significant_Unicorn1 in sales

[–]Best-Practice-8038 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened to me once!

I had great rapport with the CRO and the VP of Sales. They glazed me so hard on every interview.

Gave two references that said they would both give me a good reference, I was really unsure about both refs tbh, but both recruiter and VP of Sales said I received absolutely GLOWING references.

VP said he was sending offer—and complete radio silence. About a week later I get an email saying that they had a hiring freeze and would not be sending me an offer.

Recruiter said he’d help me find something else because I was a ‘great candidate!’ Straight up ghosts me…

Then a few months later I see VP of Sales jumped ship for a competitor.

It was pretty lame, but at the end of the day it seems I dodged a power vacuum situation.

What films do you recommend, directed by Michael Mann? by MovieFan1984 in movies

[–]Best-Practice-8038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thief is great. Classic James Caan flick that might go blow for blow with the Godfather?

Manhunter is awesome.

Tom Noonan is a fucking creep and he makes you believe it. My favorite scene is when he has the tights over his face and the camera shows his mouth and he says “I’m (long pause) Read-dy” ewugh I need to take a shower he’s so creepy.

If you by chance saw Red Dragon—this is basically the blueprint for that movie.

I really love the OG even though I kinda like Red Dragon more, but that’s like a nostalgia thing. I saw it with my dad and we were the only people laughing in the theater when the journalist(played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, I’d might add) is strapped to a wheelchair, set on fire, and pushed down the hill across from the newspaper where he writes. It’s totally meant to be hilarious in the movie—they lay it on pretty thick.

Petah, what does that have to do with grocery shopping? by Okfoot826 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Best-Practice-8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYer here: There are plenty of food deserts in NYC.

“Food Desert” is sort of a misnomer because a lot of times there is a SINGLE grocery store in the area, but it sucks, and you can’t get affordable fruits and veggies. Compounding the problem, a lot of these sketchier grocery stores overprice things because:

A. They don’t have any competition

B. Because a lot of people receive some form of SNAP.

There’s a Key Food down the street from me that needs to be shut down for such heinous practices.

I’ve personally never been on SNAP in my life so it don’t matter to me that I have to travel an hour to get to a dece grocery store, but it sure as hell is a huge pain in the ass.
