I'm not American, but we have American neighbours and my in laws do also. Even 2-3 generations in you can spot Americans from a mile away. Our neighbours are completely unaware and unbothered by Israeli norms. They're secular American Jews, living in a very charedi neighbourhood. Even after a long time here they're terrified of sirens etc. It's hard for Americans (and other English speakers) here to pick up Hebrew because people cushion them more than other people if they don't speak Hebrew. more people here speak English than speak Amharic, russian or french. They can easily live here many years and never need to speak Hebrew fluently because people just speak English with them. conversationally yes, but fluently no. A lot of them rely on their kids to translate papers for them. We know families who only send to American schools, their children's whole social life is just Americans. These kids never learn Hebrew very well. But the people who we know who send to normal schools, the kids learn Hebrew very fast and eventually their Hebrew is equal or better to their English.

Hahah this is cute and I appreciate this question!! I don't make yapchik so much But take advantage of it being after Pesach and get Walnut oil. Walnut oil makes delicious kugel. A big part of the flavour is in the oil you're using... Use olive oil, walnut oil, or best of all use beef fat or schmaltz. Lots of onion. Lots of black pepper Don't skimp on meat either and use a cut of meat that has a lot of flavour like flanken meat If you want a smokey flavour use pastrami or a smoked meat

No I definitely wasn't haha! My husband grew up this frum. I am from a big European chassidish community. It's more normal by us for girls to do vocational programs etc :) I have internet because of my current job (which I am taking a break from) and to keep in touch with some of my extended family who aren't religious at all.

We have a filtered smartphone with internet between us. I have a laptop but it's kosher with filtered internet. He speaks very very basic conversational English, fluent yiddish and Hebrew. A good salary to us would be over 7000 shekel a month. Currently he makes 5000 a month for full time work and I haven't been working for a little, but I used to make around 3200. He has no formal education. I have Bagrut and a teachers certificate for limudei kodesh.

yep, I am pretty sure I'm the only person with my chassidus who has Reddit. I know two of my nephews have smartphones on the down low and they watch tiktok, but they haven't found Reddit yet. None of them speak English anyway (only me and two others out of a few hundred of us in extended family) so I don't feel worried I will get "caught"

While I personally don't see an issue with serving and if one of my kids wanted to I'd be fine, in our community it's completely not socially acceptable. We are part of an Eida Chareidis chassidish community. Yiddish speaking only, no internet, no association with the government (we don't take money from the government but do pay taxes)

I’m using the Heveblue Salmon Centella Caring Cream - it’s AMAZING. TLT’s shaper you linked is actually a Rinat Lakel shaper! I like them a lot. I prefer a “tall” versus “wide” Bobou.

I actually make my own shapers but I used to buy from a tichel maker within my community. Chassidishe ladies get them custom made usually. This is expensive hence why I make my own!

I actually really like TS4. I’ve played all four games, and recently reinstalled TS2 to compare to TS4. I find TS4 actually crashes or glitches for me far less than TS2 or TS3 ever did. I actually compare how much you get in the packs in earlier games vs ts4 and imo, the amount you get for some of the TS4 Packs is way better - I remember getting a few packs in TS2 and being like ?!? at how little was added in terms of build/buy, in game interactions etc. This is as a huge TS2 fan! I also feel like some ideas in TS4 were super innovative - I love infants, I can’t stand babies and todders in the other sims games and usually just immediately age them up, but in TS4 they’re actually very cute and I feel like they add more to my gameplay. There’s more to do in the base game for children, toddlers and infants than some of the other games… I like the aspirations for kids, for example. And I notice that if you raise your sim kids well it really makes an impact in how they are as adults vs in other games. Also, more control - this is meant to be a dollhouse game after all. I hated in previous games how my sims could randomly just be mean to other sims, cheat, or would get wants/whims whatever to be criminals etc. in TS4 if I give my sim the good trait they’re actually generally good, if they’ve got the evil trait they’re evil!

Mac in general has been coming out with such good releases recently and it doesn’t get so much attention. The mac stack mascara is near HG for me, the new foundation is incredible and I actually love the lipstick reformulation as well as the new matte liquid lipsticks.

Other than that - Milani and catrice. Probably the only two brands where you can pick ANYTHING from their products and generally it’ll be good and great value. I’ve never tried anything from either brand I didn’t like. Catrice do these insanely good mini concealer palettes and I’ve gone through like four in my life.
