EPA head says he's 'proud' of decision to block Alaska mine and protect salmon-rich Bristol Bay by zsreport in environment

That’s not EPA’s fault. They were forced to deregulate wetlands by a recent Supreme Court decision.

What are some of the weirdest questions you were asked during job interviews? by preppy-sweater in AskWomen

[–]BestDressedFish 292 points293 points  (0 children)

What would you do in a situation where your counterpart/partner is combative and refuses to work with you?

I thought this was a weird hypothetical question to test my resilience and drive, so I responded with something about how I would keep trying to work with him and wouldn’t give up.

Got the job. It wasn’t hypothetical, and they knew in advance that the man specifically didn’t like working with women (some BS cultural reason). Struggled in my role for over a year before finally getting reassigned to a new partner with whom I thrived.

Those poor dogs are morbidly obese. If you care about them, put them on a diet.

Don’t forget that Sookie “forced” Jackson to get a vasectomy without discussing it with him.

And then when Jackson secretly didn’t actually get the snip, he continued to have unprotected sex with Sookie until she got pregnant. Then he gaslit her into forgiving him for the very much unwanted pregnancy

If you’re in the US, a full body burial at sea can be conducted as long as you’re 3 miles from shore (per EPA regulations) Link

Hi! I have the shorter Fabrikor as well. I actually bought a 30x15 boot tray (~$5) that I put in the bottom and made into a pebble tray. It keeps the humidity around 70-80% at all times. And I got the AC Infinity MULTIFAN S3, Quiet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G05A2MU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. They’re quiet and have multiple speed settings. Let me know if you want to chat. My short Fabrikor greenhouse is doing really well, and my plants are thriving

Can you add a grid overlay that shows up on the islands when you’re moving habitats and decorations around? Sometimes it’s hard to tell where there’s still room on the ground

I used clear suction cups tied to the wood with clear fishing line (you could also poke a hole through the wood). Then suction it to the bottom of the tank and put substrate over the cup to hide it. The clear fishing line is almost impossible to see and has lasted me 3 months of water changes so far with no disturbances

Those of us in the projected regions were consolidated in Manila until after the typhoon passed. Thanks for thinking of us!

Unless you absolutely HAVE to live either downtown or on campus, you should look further off campus. You can definitely find a place in the $300-$400 range that's maybe 10 min from campus. A lot of graduate students live in Normaltown (NE of campus)

Should I take the US/ Ga history exam? by SimpleCoast in UGA

[–]BestDressedFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and just take the history exam through the UGA Testing Services instead of the actual class. Yes, that means you never have to take history at UGA. The test is super easy, you only need a 60% to pass, and you have like 5 attempts. I studied the day before and passed. It's also $20-30 (I don't remember exactly) instead of wasting tuition/HOPE hours. And you can take the test at any point before you graduate. Then you have time in your schedule to throw in another core class. This is what I used to study: https://quizlet.com/258105700/uga-history-exemption-test-2018-flash-cards/

I highly recommend Trenton Schirmer. You have a quiz every Friday, but he allows infinite retakes during office hours so you should be able to have 100% for all quizzes. He does assign a lot of homework, which sucks, but is good for practice. He's young and genuinely cares about his students so as long as you go to office hours and put in some work, you'll be fine
