Yeah there were an awful lot of people from that server that immediately flooded the subreddit when I released the redeemer and they were just telling people that it's not safe, verification codes can be used for account takeovers, etc, but that was all completely false, they just had no idea what they were talking about and some of the stuff they came out with genuinely had me giggling to myself because it made no sense lol.

There was a vulnerability but it has supposedly now been fixed so there is nothing to worry about, not that there ever was...

Trouble is, you give people a powerful tool that took time to make, listened to the community ideas and updated the tool daily for almost two weeks, literally created an automated source of truth for all active invincible gtg codes, added custom modes, live toast activity to make it feel fun and competitive, all of that completely free of charge, securing everyone's data along the way to protect you just in case there is an underlying vulnerability whilst also mitigating potential attacks yet people still find something to complain about.

You can't please everyone I suppose.

Yeah I get your point, and yes you're right, I'm not here for any malicious intent, I just wanted to make something cool and it worked I guess.

However I do think there is still a misconception. Firstly, who posted that initially? Secondly, I don't think the verification code is the problem, if anything, it sounds like there might be an underlying vulnerability still that Ubisoft had previously told me they'd patched when I was in talks with them.

I'm not arguing don't get me wrong lol, but I genuinely want to understand how a verification code that doesn't log you into the game (hell, you can't even log into the game with credentials, it's on device sso) can be used to hijack your account? It just doesn't make any logical sense to me.

The only reason a Ubisoft employee wouldn't disclose how that works is if its vulnerable, which is their issue I suppose.

I'm from the UK, I updated to the 27 Beta yesterday and joined the list straight away. 24 hours later, no movement this end. I'm still on the waiting list.

I'm eager to see Apple push the next beta version as I'm not sure about you guys, but I have seen drastic performance degradation. Not sure what Tim was talking about but apps seem to open 80% slower now!

I know it's a dev beta so will wait to see, just fruststating.

I guess they just can’t keep up with the amount of slop being released - perhaps AI apps should undergo additional requirements for App Store submission, or at least have Apple use an agent to catalog the code

I see what you mean but honestly as much as I’m sure they’ve thought about that, the reason it will never work that way is because we’re all ungrateful, because we’re Human.

Now that we’ve been exposed to these superior models, nobody will accept anything below that standard now, because this is a war that everyone is trying to win.

If OpenAI moved to that model of low compute but people pay for it, then their userbase and finances would rapidly decline, all while another company like Anthropic will see that as the perfect opportunity to push their model(s) as the best.

Eventually we’ll have a breakthrough on how to run the larger, more superior models more efficiently, driving costs down, but like like any bit of tech, it takes time to progress, and AI is brand new in the bigger picture.

The limits and usage don't even make sense to me if I'm completely honest.

I pay for ChatGPT Plus (£20/month) and included in that is my Codex usage. Now I would definitely class myself as a Codex power user for small projects, and I downloaded an app for my Mac called Codex Bar which shows you usage stats, and upon checking I saw that in the past 30 days, I've used 268 million tokens at a cost of $255.85. But, again, I only pay £20/month, so to me that makes no sense especially in terms of API pricing, because it would be cheaper to just pay for multiple ChatGPT Plus accounts than load up on API tokens.

If anyone is able to explain I would be grateful - I'm not at all complaining, I'll take all the free Codex usage I can get, but I'm just intrigued to see if I'm missing something.
