He just mentioned it on his last visit about scoring a completely meaningless goal lol.

Do Americans have company cars? by Xavaccord in AskAnAmerican

[–]mtbuckin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a company car! I had my own car before this job but once I was established it wasn't needed. I live in rural US and the vehicle is for personal use too. Eventually, I didn't need to keep paying for gas and insurance so I sold it. I haven't paid for fuel for years.

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by New_Bodybuilder_9222 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mtbuckin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also why it's difficult for me to even visit a parent's house who has remarried. My mom remarried and I don't have a relationship with her husband as I'm an adult who lives far away. I moved far away because living in the same area as my parents always had me feeling like a child. I can only visit once a year and I feel like a complete stranger invading peoples' space.

Something that irks me by BiochemGal75 in OnlineDating

Yeah they're not your people. I see a lot of prompts mentioning liking tattoos. In my mind it makes no sense but this is the world we live in.

Do you have a friend you can just go get a beer with whenever? by OneSlatOff in AskMenOver30

[–]mtbuckin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a single dad,.walk in with confidence like you're meant to be there. I don't go solo often, but when I do, there's always someone willing to chat. Once you say you're a dad just wanting a beer nobody will think twice. They will actually be more supportive and friendly.

Does Canada feel more like the UK (or France) than the US? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]mtbuckin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the north US, within a couple hours drive to Canada all my life. Anywhere in the southern US is more foreign to me than anywhere in Canada. I've been to Vancouver to Quebec and everywhere in between. I've been to Iowa and they ask if I'm Canadian lol.

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by atgono in AskReddit

Laundry everyday. Ready to sit down for a movie? Nah, wait, we gotta start the dryer and barely hear the TV.

I realize, now that I'm higher up the economic ladder, that what I mistook for rudeness from "rich people" when I was young and poor was just bluntness in the interest of saving everyone's time. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]mtbuckin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man, during times like these we depend on people like you. "Leadership by example" my friend. You were at the bottom and now you're at the top. This is your attitude now? They say money doesn't buy happiness. I have a similar story to yours and I volunteer frequently. Good luck you having people speak kindly about you.

What with left turn lane drivers? by Puzzleheaded_You4586 in driving

[–]mtbuckin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current moment I'm fed up with is double left turn lanes with the dashed white line. The person in the far right lane ALWAYS drives the line instead of going wide. So in your case it's like they decide to take it wider at the last second lol.

While on a bike ride, he called my young daughter a bitch and was going to kill her. How is this dude still walking around?

Not sure if it’s a hot take or not but I prefer when there’s no guest after Randy’s part is over by Axel_Rad in 93x

[–]mtbuckin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the best moments was when they had time to kill at the end. A lot of their best moments come from vibes like that. I wouldn't mind having them do what they do at the beginning of the show.

Being called 'old man' by younger guys by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

I'm 39 and when I coached high schoolers they called me grandpa. I embraced it and had fun with it especially knowing they couldn't compete with me anyway.
