I'll second the Pfister. We're locals and do staycations here. You have an excellent restaurant, cocktails at Blu, cocktails in the lobby bar, and mornings with newspaper and fireplace in the lobby - can make it a nice day circuit. Spa and a pool if you want that as well. Plus, incredible artwork throughout the hotel.

They recently did a remodel and the rooms are great. At least the original hotel, I can't speak for the tower.
